Dear Sir: After waiting a week our next governor, Mr. Ferguson
for somebody to reply to my piece anri the Farmers Union generally
in your papero on the road ques- to the fact and iet us have a little
tion, I have teen in conversation roatl business as well as other busi-
with several gentlemen; one of ness that needs attention,
whom is Mr. T. E. Owens of the The young man Owens, a man
Keechi country, who seconds the about 65 years old, is such a timid
motion for good roads in the j yoiing man that he could not getj
strongest terms, and makes anj UP his own piece and give it to
amendment which I will accept. y°u> l,ut authorized me to do so.

I am sorry for such a timid young

The Remedy That Puts New Life in the Liver
and Regulates the Bowels.
A liver that Is torpid rxerrisos a demoralizing Influence all througli the body. It hampers the
kldnevn in their work, clogs up the bowels, throws bilious impurities into the blood anil Interferes
with digestion. A person in this condition is pale, sallow and discouraged, feels hud. Iooks had and his
general condition is bad Food digests poorly, bowels mostly constipated, suffers from dizzy spells,
occasional headaches and prefers to sit around and do nothing in place of his usual hustling energy
and cheerfulness.
Herbine changes all U1I3 by starting the internal machinery into activity again. Its reviving
effect on the Torpid Liver is prompt and thorough. The Stomach and Kidneys feel Its stimulating in-
fluence. The Bowels are purged of costive conditions and regular daily operations re-established. As
a result of this general scouring of the interior, functional activity is resumed everywhere and the
purified blood goes codrsing through veins, carrying new life aud energy to every part.

public roads. Say that a man run-1 self-included. It has ben suggested
ning an automobile shall pay so
much for each automobile; another
man running a wagon loaded with
wood or anything else shall pay so
mucM, as a wagon can haul four
times as much on a wagon will be
charged extra for the use of the
road, and these funds to be expend-
ed on the improvement of the road.
We should all be treated alike,
the rich and the poor together
build a good road and make us all
pay for it. Of course if a man
goes on foot or horse back, he can
do as he pleases, bog down if he
likes.
Now there are several features
that I could speak of; one thing is
that this is our election year and
let the candidates, especially the
County Commissioners and the
County Judge give us their opin-
ion. I do not like to impersonate,
but if I have to to bring them out,
preaching is preaching, and I want
to be understood plainly as I go
along.
I woud further suggest that it be
made the duty of the road over-
seers of every road in the county
to see that this tax is levied And
collected and turned into the pro-
per fund. I have been told that
to me that I am a little bit for-
ward in asking the candidates for
office for their opinion, but it
seems to me that it would be the
proper thing as the people will
want to know how they stand, and
let one writing stand for the whole
business, as I had rather answer all
at one time than to have to answer
everyone that might come.
A man should not consider him-
self just for the sake of office, but
should consider the voter and tax
payer first and their interests.
Now, I do not wish to offend
anyone in this suggestion, but I
may speak plainly and just what I
think is right. J. C. Jones.

Spur Lands
Many farmers are making a hard
or doubtful living on high priced
lands in localities cursed with in-
sect pests, or floods, or drouth, or
weed plagues, or other enemies to
successful farming. The end of
each year finds time and energy
practically wasted—no progress
made. Spur Farm Lands offer
relief from these conditions.
The tenant on the high priced
lands further east can make a pay-
ment and be master of his own
acres here. Any good farmer can
pay
thereof. The Spur Farm Lands
offer productive, virgin lands—
easily cultivated; at low prices and
on easy terms.
Splendid crops are raised without
irrigation. No boll weevil ever
known here. Altitude 2000 to 2600
feet.
Considering the reliable produc-
tion of these lands—prices are low-
est in Texas; new country, setting
fast; splendid climate, no malaria,
chills or fever; good churches and
schools. We offer the homeseeker
a wide range for selection and are
selling direct—no comission to any-
one; the purchaser receives full
value in his lands in dealing, direct
with the owner as opposed to pay-
ing a middleman several dollars
per acre.
STOCK FARMS AND SMALL
RANCH TRACTS.
We also offer fine grazing tracts,
perfectly adapted to this purpose—
