time it just threatened.
Temperatures were generally
in the lower 90's for highs and
mid 70's for lows.
For all you plant lovers in
the area, some advise. You
may be wondering why some
of those plants that were
green a month ago suddenly
began to wilt. Last Friday
marked the start of summer
and that means 3 months of
long and hot days. This time
of the year when the heating
process is so rapid very gusty
winds will develop. It is the
combination of the two that is
killing your plants. When
, these conditions are present
you need to put you plants
indoors under better condi-
tions but try to get them some
sunlight. If it is impossible to
bring them indoors put them
in the shade in a comer
opposite the wind directioii
and give them plenty of water.
Now for the forcast'.
Monday thru Wednesday look
for increasing conditions for
rain.
On Monday look for
scattered thunderstorms
mainly during the afternoon
and evening. The high that
day will run close to that 90°
mark. On Tuesday much the
same except look for an
increase in the number of
storms but they will still be
scattered and not everybody
will get rain. The temperature
should peak out near 92° after
a morning low of 76°
be spread under the big oaks
at the community center. Tea,
coffee, bread, plates and
silverware will be furnished.
People are encouraged to
bring their lawn chairs as
Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Dickey,
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Parker and
Mr. and Mrs. G.W. Akin.
Come join old friends and
neighbors for a day of
visitation and reminiscing.

The Amercian Association
of Retired Persons (AARP)
and various law enforcement
agencies have been receiving
an increasing number of
complaints about sales
agents who are fraudulently
selling estate planning
services by claiming to
represent the "AARP Trust
Division". AARP has no
Trust Division and no sales
agents authorized to visit or
telephone members.
Persons claiming to
represent AARP services are
currently active in north
central Texas and use a P.O.
Box in Edmond, Oklahoma.
Their general approach is to
contact older persons who
have responded to an
advertising coupon from the
National Estate Information
Service in Washington, D.C.:
this coupon allows people to
request information on estate
planning and /or the Uniform
Gift to Minors Act. People are
then contacted directly by
individuals who want to
deliver the "information"
personally.
