An Ordinance To Protect The Pub-
lic Health And Promote The Public
Welfare Of The City Of Jacksboro
Texas, By Providing For:
1. The filling up and drainage of
lots that shall have unwholesome
places where stagnant water may
accumulate thereon.
2. The cleaning of any building
or premises of filth, carrion or
other impure and unwholesome
matter.
3. Requiring owners or occupantr
of lots in the City of Jacksboro to
keep said lots free from weeds,
rubbish, brush, junk, automobile
bodies, and other unsightly or un-
sanitary matter.
4. Requiring owners to remove

Hill was born March 19, 1881, the
son of Tom Hill and Laura Barnes
and di?d June 16 in a >ocal hospi-

Survivors are 2 daughters, Mrs
Mildred Newman, Amarillo, Cla-
rine Ryan, Riverside, Calif.; and a
son Woodrow L. Hill, El Paso.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT OR-
DAINED BY THE MAYOR AND
COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY
OF JACKSBORO OF JACK COUN-
TY, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. It shall be unlawful
for any owner, lessee, occupant, or
person in charge of any premises
in the City of Jacksboro to allow
weeds to grow upon the premises,
or trash, rubbish, brush, junk, au-
tomobile bodies, carrion, abandon-
ed dilapidated buildings that are
fire hazards or harbingers of var-
mints, or disease carriers, or any
other unsightly or unsanitary condi-
tions to accumulate upon said pre-
mises to such an extent as is rea-
sonably calculated to create a fire
hazard or calculated to become in-
jurious to the health of the citizens
of Jacksboro; and either act is
hereby declared to constitute a
public nuisance.
SECTION 2. In the event the
owner of the premises upon which
is located a nuisance as prohibited
by this ordinance cannot be found
or served with notice, and there
does not appear to be any person
of such premises or occupancy, or
in the event the nuisance is not
abated by cutting the weeds and
removing the trash, rubbish, brush,
junk, auomobile bodies, or other
unsightly or Insanitary matter as

in the City of Jacksboro, Texas,
who shall allow weeds, rubbish,
brush, junk, carrion, automobile
bodies, or other unsightly or insani-
tary condition to accumulate, fail
and/ or refuse to correct such
aforesaid nuisance within ten days
after notice to said owner or lessee,
in writing, or by letter addressed
to such owner at his post office
address, or within ten days after
notice by publication in any local
newspaper, then the City of Jacks-
boro, Texas, may correct the nuis-
ance and charge the expenses in-
curred, and such expenses shall be
assessed on the real estate, lot or
lots, as provided in Section 3.
SECTION 6. That if any part of
this ordinance is, or should be held
invalid for any reason, then that
fact shall not invalidate the entire
ordinance, but the balance thereof
shall remain in full force and ef-
fect
SECTION 7. All other ordinances
or parts of ordinances in conflict
with this ordinance are hereby re-
pealed.
