The last ten days of April is
set by the county committee for
farmers and ranchers to sign up
for conservation work that they
mean to do in May or June. ,
Landowners planning to spray I
mesquite by airplane should;
make requests by April 30 as
most spraying will be done in i
June. |
Some may desire to do some
kerosening of mesquites in June,
and landowners should sign up
so the committee can set Feder-
al Cost Shares.
The next sign up period will
be the last ten days in June, for
July, August, and September.
Decide now, the local ASC office
says, when you desire to do
your work; to share in the
funds for a period you should
sign up ten clays before the
period begins.
Farmers who do not intend to
plant their allotment of cotton
and peanuts are asked to release
it to the County ASC Committee
in order to establish their acre-
age history. This acreage will be
distributed to other farmers.
Applications are being taken
at the ASC office in Jacksboro.

Moving To New Armory
While most of Battery B took
turns at guard duty at vital
Jacksboro points Wednesday
evening, part of the unit began
moving equipment to the new
armory, recently completed at
Lake Jacksboro, from Fort
Richardson. Final assembly of
the battery was at the new
armory.
Moving will be completed dur-
ing an all day drill Sunday, ac-
cording to Davis.
An “Open House” is being
planned at the new armory

bly after guardsmen return
from summer camp in July. The
Jack County Sheriff’s Posse is
scheduled to take 'over Fort
Richardson soon after the guard
unit’s move is completed.
