fornia.

tie Havens, a former school
teacher of Mr. Cook, Mr.
and Mrs. O.R. Layfteld,
Sr., and Mr. and Mrs. J.H.

The Senior Class of
Jacksboro High School will
present “Once in Every
Family” by Marrijane and
Joseph Hayes by special
arrangement with Samuel
French on Friday night,
April 1. at 8:00 p.m. in
the JHS Auditorium.

be SI.50 for adults, high
school and junior high stu-
dents attending the night
performance. Elementary
students will pay 504
for the night performance.
Proceeds go toward fi-
nancing the senior trip
and other projects.
The play is a comedy of
family life. When Mrs.
Brooks (Harva Kuyken-
dall) goes away for a week-
end to attend a college
reunion, she leaves an al-
ready l>ewildered Mr.
Brooks (Brad Elenburg)-
w ho suffers from imaginary
ulcers, as second vice pre-
sident of the First Na-
tional Bank-in charge of
the teenage family.
Poor father, bombastic,
ineffectual, comic, lov-
able, he finds himself
involved in several explo-
sive young love duels,
in a nighborhood feud
that leads to a lawsuit
against his own boss (Larry
Weaver), in taking part as
a blackfaced end-man in
the PTA Minstrel, in hang-
ing 9 rooms of wallpaper
single-handed, and in many
other comic situations.
In short, everything hap-
pens to the father!.
Mingled in the romp are
many lively young people
including a pretty daughter
(Jana Ward) with a temper.,
who sets out to settle a
love spat between two fri-
ends (Donna Henderson
and David Kinder), only to
lose her own boyfriend
(Roland Thurman) in the
ensuing fracas; three young
soldiers (Bryan Elenburg,
Randy Crumpton and Don-
ald Bowen) eager for a
good time; an unpredic-
t .,1.1c younger sister (Pam
Fcnter); and others (Pat
Hickey and Debra Garner).

The 307-foot Tower at The
University of Texas was
lighted orange one night
recently, not to herald a
Longhorn athletic victory but
something far more signifi-
cant — the addition to the UT
Austin Library of its four
millionth volume.
Fftesented by Mrs. Dolph
Briscoe, the milestone book
was the two-volume first edi-
tion of Noah Webster’s "An
American Dictionary of the
English Language," printed in
1828.
UT Austin’s Library is now
the 10th largest academic
library in the U S. In 1884, the
Library consisted of 1,200
books in one room of the Old
Main Building, outside of
which cows frequently grazed.
