Freeman Buys Porter Agency
George Porter, of George
Porter Insurance in Bry-
son, announced this week
that he is selling the agency
to Bill Freeman of Bryson.
Freeman announced af-
ter the sale that Gwen Fitz-
gerald will remain as man-
ager of the office.
Freeman has been active
in the community for many
years as has Porter. Free-
man is the owner of the
Jack County Insurance A-
gency, the Bryson Insu-
rance Agency and is the
President of the First State
Bank of Bryson.
He is married to the for-

nter Billie Crawford and

cording to the new owner,

service that has been a
part of the agency for the
past 24 years.

We want to keep your
electric service dependable.
Thats why were asking
for a rate increase.
Dependable electric service is the
constant goal of Texas Power &
Light Company. But more than
that, it is a responsibility we have
to nearly two million people
throughout North, Central and
East Texas.
For almost sixty-five years, TP&L
has fulfilled this responsibility
and we re working to meet it in
the future, but the costs of pro-
ducing and supplying electricity
have risen drastically in recent
years and they're continuing
to go up.
For example, in 1971 about 17c
of every dollar TP&L customers
paid for electric service went for
generating plant fuels. In 1976,
about 38c of every dollar went for
fuels. In 1971, the cost of con-
structing plants, lines and other
facilities was $102 million. Last
year, construction costs were
more than $261 million. The cost
of government-required anti-
pollution equipment on gen-
erating plants has increased
about 25 times since 1972.
The end of these vastly inflated
costs is nowhere in sight and it
leaves TP&L no choice but to ask
its customers to pay more for the
electricity they use. It's the only
way we can continue to provide
the dependable electric service
you want and expect.

ter shots; volunteer fire-
men will give shots the re-

while innoculative pro-
