Information Wanted.
In planning the News Farm, the
editor would like to plant in the
orchard only such fruit trees as
have proved successful in Jack
county. The editor was foremost
in the work of getting the state to
put in anumber of experiment sta-
tions over the state and we believe
we are the originator of the idea
and worked for the law from the
names of them and to these we
wish to ask for the information
they have gained through exper-
ience. What are your best peach
trees?? What are your best plum
trees? What are your best apple
trees? If your neighbor has a
good tree and you know the name
of it tell us about that. It will
only take a postal card and you
will receive in return the combin-
ed experiences of all. Please let us
know at once, write it down now,
directly after reading this, so you
will not forget it, and send to us.
We want to put out our orchard
this year if possible.

only way we can get such informa-
tion is from our own experiments,
and we know of no way to get the
results of these experiment than
to ask for them. So we ask in the
News for your experience in the
matter of fruit trees. We want
to plant only the successful varie-
ties.
What variety of peach, pi um,
apple and pear have you found
most successful. We do not mean
fine fruit, but profitable fruit,
fruit that will live and grow and
make profitable yields and yet is
good fruit. If you know of only
one good variety please drop us a
card or tell the editor. This col-
lected information will be given to
the people through the News and
thus it will be benificial to all the
people.
There are a number of successfal

the owner does not know the name
of the variety. We have budded
a number of these and we may
sometime learn the names of them.
There are many though who have
successful varieties that know the
Big Eire Thanksgiving Day.
On Thanksgiving day about noon
a vast volume of smoke was seen
rising from the G. T. & W. yards
and it was found to be the ties and
posts that were on fire. It is said
that a passing engine set the stuff
on fire and the ties being creosot-
ed could not be extinguished. The
only way lo prevent a total loss
was to drag out the other timbers.
The loss amounted to about $4,-
000 and was insured. The greatest
loss will be the inconvenience in
getting the material replaced as it
is hard to get this kind of stuff
hauled on the roads at this time of
year and it is feared that it will
cause a delay in the construction
work of the road.
