BIG COLEMAN COUNTY BULL was judged grand
champion Simbrah at the State Fair of Dallas.
Owner of the bull is Keith Aycock, second from
right of San Angelo who has ranch land in the
south part of Coleman County. The bull weighs
2300 pounds. He was reserve champion in
Houston in February. Pictured, with bull, are,
from left, Max Watts, judge; Larue Douglas,
fitter, and Aycock. The young lady (raiding
trophy at right was not identified.

dropped a heartoreaker in over-
time 18-16 to ‘"Ned” and then
followed with a loss to Anson 20-11.
Jim Sprinkles and Geoffrey Hol-
lingsworth each tallied seven mark-
ers to pave the way for a 22-12
victory over Jim Ned In the tourney
opener. Mark Martinez had four
while Joe Beal and Curtis Mc-
Creight each had two points.
Sprinkles, Hollingsworth and Mc-
Creight bagged eight, six and five
points, respectively in the Kittens'
26-12 win over Anson in the ensuing
contest. Joe Beal netted three while
Jason Smith and Chris Baker each
had two markers.
In the title contest, Beal and
Martinet held the hot hands tallying
11 points apiece. Jim Sprinkles and
Martinez had six each while Hol-
lingsworth netted four and Jason
Smith managed two. The Kittens
handled the young Mavs despite
their superior height advantage,
taking a 24-6 halftime lead and
substituting liberally after the in-
termission.
The 8th grade boys received
individual trophies for their winning
effort.
All four Bluekitten teams played
in Ballinger last night. A full report
of that contest wUl be carried in
Thursday's Chronicle.

The Coleman freshmen boys bas-
ketball team pulled the trigger on
their 1984-86 season on Monday,
November 29th in Bangs. Ray
Findley's quintet pummeled the
young Dragons, 41-29.
Leading the scorers for the Blue-
cats were Bryant Brown and Raul
Hurtado with 12 points each. The
team's center Ernest Stewart bag-
ged seven markers while Kelly
Jeffreys and Mike Nunez each had
four. Andrew Knox chipped ifi with
two points. Other freshmen seeing
action were Deke Willard and Terry
