Honors Mrs. Tresda Neff
Mrs. Terry Nantz of
Bryson was hostess to an
old fashioned “stork" sho-
wer honoring Mrs. Tresda
Neff, on Saturday, January
17, at 2:00.
Games of completing
nursery rhypies and un-
punch bowl held an ice
ring of fresh fruit. Also
assisting with serving were
Mrs. Ruth Newby and Mrs.
Anna Mills.
Thirty-two guests regis-
tered in the "Baby's
Book.” Special guests were
scrambling words of baby Mrs. Bill Roper and Mrs

Girl of the Month
The Perrin FHA Chapter
Girl of the Month is Dawn
Herrera, a Sophomore at
Perrin High School. During
her freshman year she
participated in basketball,
annual staff, student coun-
cil. and was member of
the chapter. She attended
the Area Meeting and re-
ceived her Level I Encoun-
ter diploma.
As a sophomore Dawn is
active in basketball, stu-
dent council, annual staff
and pep squad. She was
elected Homecoming no-
minee and class president,
is a member of the chapter
and is w orking for her Level
II Encounter. She plans to
attend the area FHA
meeting.
Funeral Services For
Mrs. Pearl Gilmore
Mrs. Pearl Gilmore, 84,
died in the Jacksboro hos-
pital Sunday. Services were
held at 2 p.m. Monday at
the First Baptist Church
with Rev. L.B. Reavis,
itcrim pastor officiating.
Burial was in Oakwood
Cemetery under direction
of Hawkins Funeral Home.
Born October, 23, 1891,
at the Beans Prairie, Jack
County, her parents were
the late William and Mar-
garet Anderson Brummett.
She was married to Vir-
gil Gilmore who was de-
ceased in 1942. She was
a member of the First
Baptist Church, and had
lived in Jack County most
of her life.
Survivors are three
daughters Mrs. Edna Acker
of Columbus, Ohio, Mrs.
Evelyn Fancher of Jacks-
boro and Mrs. Geraldine
Soloman of Weatherford;
three sons. Clarence of
Tucson, Arizona; Bob of
Fort Worth and Billy of
Jacksboro; two sisters;
Mrs. Minnie Reeves of
Duncan, Okla.; Mrs. Lynn
Parker of Fort Worth;
one brother, Chester Brum-
mett of Lincoln, Nebraska,
six grandchildren and five
great grandchildren.
Perrin Frosty Cone is
now open under manage-
ment of Mrs. Joe Ed Mc-
Donald.
Mr. and Mrs. Royce
Turner and family have
moved to the former
Red Baker house cast of
Perrin.
Mr. and Mrs. !des Tur-
ner attended funeral ser-
vices for Wilks Abemathie
at Joplin January 18. Mrs.
Turner also attended funer-
al services January 21 in
Monteague for Mrs. Mal-
com Shepard Cauldwell.
Jana Moore is home
from Palo Pinto General
Hospital.
Mrs. Hugh Smith is in
Jack County Hospital.
Ted Jordan is in Palo

Wichta Falls visiting Mr.
and Mrs. Preston Stouard

Mrs. Ruby Johnston of
Mineral Wells was a week-
end visitor in the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Howard
Johnston.

dents and FFA Students
will be showing calves
in the Fort Worth Stock
Show.Among them will be
Tony Lyon. Tracy York.

The Perrin FHA Chap-
ter held their monthly
meeting on January 13.
Devotional was given by
Janet Miller. Topics dis-
cussed at the meeting
were the planned events
for Valentines Day conses-
sion stands, and the Area
Meeting.
Speaker for the meeting
was Mr. Stanley Caddell,
who spoke about college
requirements and career
opportunites. The meeting
was closed by President
Janet Miller.
Refreshments were ser-
ved by June Stults, Mary
McMillan. Ginger Stults.
will be held Saturday, Feb.
7 at Perrin School. Judging
is tentatively set to begin
at eleven a.m.
Perrin Booster Club has
purchased a Universal Gym
for the Perrin Athletic
Department. The Gym is
already in use.
PERRIN BASKETBALL
Perrin 5th and 6th
grade girls and boys parti-
cipated in the Poolville
Tournament Jan. 24. Both
teams received consolation
trophys.
Perrin varsity basket-
ball teams will play Pool-
ville Tuesday, Jan. 27 in
Poolville. B team boys will
also play. Gametime begins
at 5:45.

Graford in Perrin Jan. 30.

Perrin Junior High Will
participate in the Santo
Tournament Jan. 29.31.

Announced
Mr. and Mrs. Don Gard-
ner are proud to announce
the engagement and ap-
proaching marriage of their
daughter. Debra, to Harold
Gene Pankey, son of Mr.
and Mrs. John Pankey.
Debra is a graduate of
Jacksboro High School and
attended Weatherford Jun-
ior College.
Harold Gene is a gradu-
ate of Jacksboro High
School and attended Tar-
leton State University and
Texas Tech University. He
is now associated with John
Pankev Butane Gas Co.
The wedding is planned
for April 3 at the First Bap-
tist Church of Jacksboro.

Before coming to Fort
Worth. David served on an
one-half years as part time
music and youth director
at Eastdale Baptist Church
in Montgomery, also nine
months at Broadmore Bap-
tist Church as music direc-
tor. From 1972 until 1975
he served over three years
as youth and associate
music director with Clover-
dale Baptist Church in
Montgomery.
David has a Bachelor's
Degree in Music Education
from Sanford University in
Birmingham, while Maye is
a graduate of Auburn Uni-
versity with an elementary
teaching degree.

be working with youth in
various activities and with
both youth and adult
