Scout Council Meeting, April
13th at El Chico Restaurant
in Hancock Center.
Gladys was sitting in for
Valerie Morin as chairmen of
Delegates, for Bastrop, one
of the eighteen counties
attending the meeting. The
membership for 1980 is 6,007
girls, 1,551 adults in 488
troops.
The keynote speaker for
the afternoon was former
Girl Scout Mayor Carole
McClelland.
Iris was elected to the
Board of Directors, to serve
as a senior scout on the
board, of the Lone Star Girl
Scout Council.
Simpson

Carl and Judy Simpson
are announcing the birth of a
daughter, Marbree Christine
Simpson, born April 2 at
Kansas City, Mo. She
weighed seven pounds, one
ounce. Her grandparents are
Sully and Marjorie Simpson
and her great grandmother
is Mrs. C.W. Eskew of
Bastrop.

Telling, Saturday, March 22.

participated and Rodney
Kadura attended as an
alternate. Carmen March
placed third and Cynthia
Abbott placed fifth giving
the Primary School enough
total points to bring home a
Second Place Trophy. Bar-
bara Walker, coach and
sponsor, and Bonny Potts,
principal accompanied the
students to contest.

Mr. and Mrs. David Hashaw
Baylor parents meeting
Dr. and Mrs. George
Stokes will be the guest
speakers during the spring
meeting of the Austin Baylor
Parents League Thursday,
April 17. The meeting will
begin at 7:30 p.m. in the
Department of Public Safety
Headquarters, 5805 Lamar.
Dr. Stokes, professor of
oral communication at
Baylor, and Mrs. Stokes will
speak on maintaining indi-
viduality. They will also
entertain the audience by
singing and playing folk
music selections on the
guitar.
Mr. Jack Herring, director
of the Baylor Parents
League, and other Baylor
representatives will also be
present to explain additional
facets of Baylor life and to
participate in a question and
answer session. "Voyagers,"
a new film depicting the
Baylor heritage and featur-
ing alumni and students, will
also be included in the
program.
Area alumni, parents of
students and alumni, and
prospective students and
their parents are encouraged
to attend.
Miss Rhonda Gail. Graham'
became the bride of David
Gene Hashaw at 7 o’clock in
the evening on Saturday,
March 8, at Westview
Baptist Church in Houston.
Brother Zane Crawford
performed the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce R.
Graham Jr. of Houston. She
is the granddaughter of Mrs.
Belva Reed of Bastrop and
Mr. and Mrs. Claude
Patterson of Hooker, Okla-
homa.
The groom is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Carl E.
Hashaw of Houston. He is
the grandson of Mr. and Mrs.
Samual Hashaw of Living-
ston, Texas.
Matron of Honor was Mrs.
Greg Graham. Bridesmaids
were Kerry Graham,
Jacquiline & Sally Wilkin-
son, Judy Hoffart, and
Karen Salley. Flower girl
was Kimberly Hashaw;
sister of the groom.
Serving as best man was
Tim Hashaw, brother of the
groom. Groomsmen were
Todd and Joe Graham,
Steve Hayes, David Hen-
dricks, and Mike Bletsch.
Ring bearer was the bride’s
cousin, Scott Abbott.
Ushers were Ray Graham,
Roy Munchison, Barry Reno
and Tom Barnette. Candle
lighter was Ben Graham.
