Area deaths
Students in Bastrop's Elementary School were asked to create posters of Bastrop that they
thought would make a good billboard to attract visitors to our city. The original views of
our city were displayed at Citizens State Bank and those judged to be the best in each age
category were awarded a prize. Winners, from left to right, were David Lane, 4th grade;
Charlie Faz, 3rd grade; Brent Kubesh, 6th grade and overall winner; and Rusty Woodall,
5th grade. The winners were presented with their prizes of flowering plants by Sue Ann
Raring, beautification chairman of the PTA and Sandy Kibby, president of the PTA. Staff
