MRS. DELLA L KELLY
Funeral services for Mrs. Del-
las L. Kelly, 68, of 911 W. Mor-
ton, were held at Johnson-Moore
Funeral chapel Tuesday after-
noon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Earn-
est L. Potter, pastor of Calvary
Baptist church, officiated and
burial was in Georgetown ceme-
tery with Johnson-Moore in
charge.
Mrs. Kelly died in a local hos-
pital Saturday, March 2,'! at 11:30
p.m. after one day in the hospital
She had been in failing health
for two years.
Mis. Kelly was born in Sjuni-
kright, Tennessee May 13, 1888,
the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Henry Ryan. She married Mr.
Kelly in 1909. They lived in
Whitewright become coming to
Denison 35 years ago. She was
a member of Southside Baptist
Church.
Survivors are two sons, M/Sgt.
Arthur L. Kelly, Bell, Calif-
ornia and Airman C. L. Kelly,
El Taso; five daughters, Mrs.
Arthur L. Johnson, Milburn,
Calif., Mrs. John Neff, Denison,
hixI Mrs. Robert Jackson and
Mrs. Carlton Bailey, Ft. Worth
and Mrs. Robert Wright, Durant;
three half-brothers, Krnet Ryan,
Savoy, Elmer Ryan, Whitewright
and George Ryan, Long Beach,
Calif., and 18 grandchildren.
JANET MARLENE SMITH
Janet Marlene Smith, 8 year
old daughter of Mr, and Mrs. B.
E. Johnson, 126 E. Prospect,
died in a local hospital Saturday
at 12:50 p.m. from injuries sus-
tained when a limb fell on her
as she walked beneath a tree in
the yard of her parents’ home.
The child suffered a skull in-
jury, broken leg and internal in-
juries.
Funeral service* were held at
Bratcher Funeral Home Monday
afternoon at 2 o’clock with Jim
Swafford, pastor of Armstrong
Avenue Church of Christ, con-
dueling the service. Interment
was in Fail-view with Bratcher
in charge.
Janet was born in Lindsay,
California Feb. 12, 1949 and
came to Denison with her parents
nine months ago. She was a stud-
ent at Golden Rule school and a
member of the Church of Christ.
Aside from her parents she is
survived by two brothers, Ron-
ald Joe Smith and James Barney
Johnson, a sister, Joan Kay
Smith, Denison and grandparents,
Mi-, and Mrs. J. E. Farni, Ham-
mon, Olda.
DOUGLAS GREGORY HALEY
Douglas Giegory Haley, one
day old infant son of Mr. and
Mrs. Douglas Haley, 608 E. Mur-
ray, died at a local hospital
Thursday, March 21, at 8:30 a.m.
Graveside services were held
Saturday afternoon with the Rev.
Roland Brunson of Dallas of-
ficiating. Bratcher Funeral Home
was in charge of arrangements.
Aside from his parents the in-
fant is survived by a brother,
Marcus Lee Haley, Denison, and
grandparents, L. H. Haley, Dal-
las; T. G. Tapp, Mabank, Texas,
Mrs. L. L. Carl, Dallas and Mrs.

Frietsche, two day old infant son
of Dr. and Mrs. W. H. Frietsche,
were held at Calvary Cemetery
Wednesday afternoon at four o’-
clock with the Rev. Monsgnr.
Thomas Zachry, pastor of St.
Patrick’s Catholic Church, offie- I
iating.
The baby was born at Madonna
hospital Sunday, March 24. He
died Tuesday morning at 6:46.
Aside from the parents, the-
infant is survived by a sister,
Martha Frietsche, Denison and
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Hen-
ry Petrask, and Mrs. Mary
Frietsche, all of Schulenburg,
Texas.
ROY E. SIMMONS
Ray E. Simmons, 54, of Wich-
ita Falls, died in a local hospital
Wednesday March 20 at 8:55 p.
m. after a year’s illness. He had
been in the hospital two weeks.
The remains were shipped to
Wichita Falls by Bratcher Fun-
eral Home for services and in-
terment.
Mr. Simmons was a native of
Hondo, Texas, born April 4, 1902
the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas
G. Simmons. He had been employ-
ed as a B&B mechanic for the
Katy railroad for 14 years. He
was a Baptist.
Survivors include his step-
father, A. T. Lindley, Durango,
Colo., three brothers, R. G. Sim-
mons of Wichita Falls, T. G. Sim-
mons of Oregon and B. M. Sim-
mons of Ardmore, Okla., and
two sisters, Mrs. Ada Mae
Browder, Bangs, Texas and Mrs.
Kathleen Baskin of Wichita Falls.
J. FRANK TERHUNE
Funeral services for J. Frank
Terhune, 76, resident of Denison
since 1903, were held at Bratcher
Funeral Chapel Thursday after-
noon at 2 o’clock with the Rev.
Ronald Prince of Paris and the
Rev. Ben F. Hearn of Ft. Worth,
officiating at the service. Inter-
ment was in Fail-view with Brat-
cher in charge.
Mr. Terhune died in Wichita
Fails Tuesday, March 19, after
two years of illness.
Mr. Terhune was born in Mad-
isonviile, Kentucky July 31, 1880,
the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. H.
Terhune. He was married in Ft.
Scott, Kansas Sept. 23, 1902 to
Starting Sunday

Waco Splash club to
be feature on TV
by Humble April 1-3
Girls from the YWCA Splash
Club in Waco will present an
aquatic performance of “Peter
Pan” on The Humble Company’s
Texas in Review” next week.
This interesting television pro-
gram will also feature several
other stories from around the
state.
The “Peter Pan” production is
being staged for the entertain-
ment of the children from the
Methodist Orphans Home and the
Waco State Home. Girl swimmers
are all members of the Waco
YWCA Splash Club and are qual-
ified in Red Cross Life Saving
Flora Waidelich who died in
1943. He was a brakeman for
the Katy, and a member of the
BofRT and Parkside Baptist
church. Before becoming employ-
ed by the Katy Mr. Terhune op-
erated the Woodlawn Poultry
Farm.
