Blessed in Canadian
IN JULY OF LAST YEAR. I moved to ( anadian from a small town in
Oklahoma. I wa* rather nervous, as I had lived in Hinton all my life, and
didn't know anyone in Canadian. My husband, Joe Keeney, had lived
here for almost 25 years, and told me how wonderful it was
During the past year, I realized he was so right. Everyone has goat
out of their way to make me fw) welcome, and like a friend, rather than
a newcomer The employees id Ixiwe's, that Joe calls his second family,
have especially made me feel at home.
This is s great comfort, as I miss my parents, two daughters, and
two granddaughters, who all Uve in Oklahoma. Over 12 years ago, I
found my life s work canng for the elderly. And here, I can still fid®
m,v dream and hope todo so for years to come.
Something else I have noticed is how fnendly, polite, and respect®
Canadian s young people are to everyone They don't have the "altt-
tude" that so many of thetr peers have in other town* I now see why
Joe says he wouldn't want to live anywhere else but Canadian 1 fed
truly blessed.
