Area Cattle Women provide
opportunity for young rancher
Amy Brainard, president of
the Top O’ Texas CattleWomen
has announced that her organiza-
tion will award a $450 scholarship
to a young area rancher to the
Texas A&M Beef Cattle Short
Course on August 7-9 at College
Station.
The scholarship will be
awarded to a qualifying young
beef cattle rancher between 20
and 39. The scholarship is made
available through the Ivomec Gen-
erations of Excellence program
administered by the Texas
CattleWomen. The organization
has received approximately
$125,000 during the last four
years from their partnership ef-
forts with Merial, the manufac-
turer of Ivomec.
The program originated in
1996 and has become a national
success with contributions to
state cattle associations exceed-
ing $1,000,000. Monies are used
solely for scholarships and lead-
ership activities to benefit young
people.
Purchasers of Ivomec may
choose to have Texas
CattleWomen administer scholar-
ship and leadership funds by cir-
cling TEXAS CATTLEWOMEN
on the back of the Ivomec rebate
coupon. President Brainard and
her organization strongly urge ev-
eryone to do so.
Top O’ Texas CattleWomen is
a group of almost 50 women who
work to support and promote the
beef industry. For additional in-
formation call (806) 323-6397 or
