WEEKLY REVIEW.
Hi# waather hu been variable this week. Sunday fair
M#aiay raining, Tuesday clear and pleasant; on Wednes-
.tay and Thursday a most disagreeable wet norther pre-
vailed, hut they gave plaee on Friday to delightful weath-
tr which continues to-day. The roads are in bad condi-
nart and the tides have been Iqw.
Business has been quite brisk during the week, with the
exception of one or two days when operations were cheeked
ky the disagreeable weather. The streets were as full ol
the signs of acliive trade as usual—crow ded with vehicles
Md bustling tradesmen.
Ths Intelligence that the railroad iron has been purchased
though not direct, is deemed reliable, and has added to the
ch«<wfulness which other signs of business prosperity had
Mixed.
There were four steamships in port this morning, three
ef which arrived yesterday and one to-day. Besides, there
were four steamboats and some 25 or SO sailing vessels In
port, which gave a lively appearance to the shipping in
Die harbor and bayeu.

tition in my office against L*>uis Brandt, in which
he charges that the said Brandt, for tt Valuable
consideration, did. on the 1st January. 1857, and
1st March 185S, make, execute and deliver to
petitioner his two certain promissory notes of
that d ite fur the sum ot one hundred and ninety-
two dollars, and interest; th it said notes have
long since become due and payable and payment
thereoi ol ten demanded; wherefore he sues and
prayRthat the said Brandt lie cited hy publication
and for judgmeut agai .st him for the amouut of
said notes and interest, and for cosl, &e., and
affidavit having been made as hy law required,
tiiese are therefore to command you to cite the
said Louis Brandt, hy making publication of this
writ in the Indianola Courier, a newspaper pub-
lished in said county of Calhoun, for four succes-
sive weeks, to be and appear at the next term
of the Honorable District Coiut of Calhoun
County, to be holden at the Court House in the
City of Indianola on the Third Monday in No-

o Runfte. atid Andrew Dove, as partners,
under the style and firm oi Henry Runge & Co.
have filed their petition in my office against Louis
Brandt, in which they charge that the said Brandt
is justly indebted to them in the sum of Three
Hundred and Eigfiir-one DO | 100 Dollars for
goods, wares and merchandise furnished him at
his request and for money loaned arid advanced
him during the years 1853, ’54, '55 ’56. ’57, ’58.
’59 and ’60 That on the 2 1st day ol October,
1S5i, the said Brandt to secure said petitioners
did make and execute to petitioner.-, a Gill of sale
in the nature of a mortgage to a certain stock of
Cattle branded L B and oxen, mares, colts and a
certain sloop boat called the “Colonel.” Peti-
tioners pray for a Citation by publication and a
decree foreclosing said mortgage. And affidavit,
having bees made as by law required, these are
therefore to command you that you cite the said
Louis Brandi by making publication of this writ
in the ' India no la Courier” a newspa per published
iu said county of t alhouu for four weeks previous
to the return day thereof to be and appear at the
next term of the Honorable District Court of Cal-
