Sheriff Robert Bolcik report-
ed 1,876 calls went through dis-
patch from June 11 to June 17.
The sheriffs department
responded to 52 calls; the
Refugio Police Department, 36;
DPS, four; medics, 16; Animal
Control, eight; Refugio VFD,
four; Woodsboro VFD, two;
Tivoli VFD, one.
Contraband
A male suspect was taken to
Refugio County Jail on June
16, at 1:38 p.m. Sgt. Glen
Grasham initiated a traffic stop
and located contraband. The
vehicle was released to a pas-
senger.
Protective order violation
A caller reported a man was
yelling at two woman at the
H-E-B on June 11, at 6:56
p.m. According to the report,
a protective order was placed
against the man but would
have expired that day.
The Officer Bill Schaefer
advised that if the suspect
came by the residence a crimi-
nal trespass warning would be
issued.
Phone scam
A caller reported that her
grandmother received a call on
June 11, at 7:55 p.m. that she
had won a lot of money.
According to the report her
grandmother was told to pur-
chase a money card and meet
them in a parking lot. But was
unsure of which parking lot she
was to meet them. Officer Bill
Schaefer made contact with the
victim who received a call while
the officer was there.
The officer spoke with the
suspect on the phone who said
he was with UPS and that he
had a package for the woman.
The officer verified that it was
a scam.
Criminal mischief
Officer Duqualis Farrow was
dispatched to U.S. 77 on June
11, at 11:48 p.m. in reference
to subjects throwing eggs near
Our Lady of Refuge Catholic
Church.
A caller reported that the eggs
hit his windshield. According to
the report, two female juve-
niles were identified. The offi-
cer spoke to a parent abut the
incident.
Theft alleged
A caller reported that his
girlfriend allegedly stole $1,000
and left in a green Cadillac on
June 13, at 7:04 p.m. Officer
Peter Silvas advised this was a
civil matter.
Crash
Refugio VFD, medics,
Officer Robert Brown, and Jeff
Raymond were dispatched to
US 77 on June 14, at 9:19 a.m.
in reference to a crash.
According to the report a
female was out of the vehicle
walking around but shaken up.
The victim was complaining
about knees hurting.
The subject was taken to
Refugio Memorial Hospital.
Miltons was dispatched to tow
the vehicle.
Criminal mischief
A caller reported that her
car’s back window was busted
out on June 15, at 6:35 p.m.
Officer Duqualis Farrow
was dispatched to Oak Street.
According to the report, a loud
bang was heard during the
night.
On June 17, at 9:24 p.m. a
911 call reported a 23-year old
busting through the front door
on Heard Street in Refugio.
According to the report, the
mother and son allegedly had
an argument over beer being
poured on each other but he
did not hit his mother. The
father did not wish to press
charges.

Single lane closure from east of
