Funerals today
LOCKER — Epimenia “Pepper” Johnson, at 10
a.m. in Locker Cemetery in San Saba County. Blay-
lock Funeral Home of Brownwood.
Charles E. (Charlie)
Harris
Charles E. Harris (Charlie), 74, passed July 11, 2012. He
was born in Brown County Aug. 27, 1937, to Mr. John E.
Harris and Martha Ann Hinson. Charlie led a full life, in-
cluding working as a police officer, firefighter, at Brown
County Brick and Truss, and several years at Weatherby.
He was mostly known for his gift of mechanical work.
Many people would call or come by to check what’s
wrong with their car or ask him to come and he would.
Later in life, he started working on small engines.
He was preceded in death by his mother; father;
brother Curtis and wife Cindy; son-in-law Stan; and a
granddaughter Sydney Ramos; and sister, Ima Gene.
Survivors include daughters Carol Bilbrey of Oklaho-
ma, Linda Casady and Jeanie Bailey of Abilene; a brother,
Harland (Red) Harris; sisters, Mildred and Alma; grand-
children, Denise, Wesley, Marlene, Anthony, Cheynee,
Matt; and nine great-grandchildren.
A memorial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 21, at
Grace Baptist Church in Early.

Funeral services for Frances Maner, 86, formerly of
Brownwood, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 21, at
Davis-Morris Funeral Home in Brownwood, with Randy
Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Me-
morial Park in Early. No visitation services are set.

Deadline for FSA loan set for March
SPECIAL TO THE BULLETIN
Brown and Comanche counties have been declared eligible
for Farm Service Agency disaster emergency loans under Sec-
retarial Disaster Declaration No. S3288-Damages and Losses
caused by drought Jan. 1, 2012, and continuing, FSA officials
announced. Applications are for Production and Physical
Losses with the last day to apply set for March 12, 2013.
Farmers who have lost at least 30 percent of their produc-
tion or suffered any physical loss due to these losses listed
on these declarations during the time period are eligible for
FSA loans. Proceeds from crop and hazard insurances are
taken into consideration when determining a producer’s
eligibility and total loss.
FSA Farm Loan Manager Cynthia P. Kruger is urging farm-
ers who are interested in receiving an emergency loan to
submit their applications into FSA as soon as possible.
The FSA office is at 245 South Virginia St. in Stephenville,
and farmers can call the office at (254) 965-3169.
Cheryl Jennings
Funeral services for Cheryl Jennings, age 67, of Zeph-
yr, Texas, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2012,
at the Church of Christ in Early, Texas. Interment will
follow in the Zephyr Cemetery, under the direction of
Heartland Funeral Home. The family will receive friends
6-8 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Cheryl Jennings went to be with her Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ Sunday, July 15, 2012, at her home
in Zephyr, Texas. She was was born on Dec. 26, 1944, in
Elba, Ala., to Charley T. and Mary Alice Lowery Bowers.
Cheryl was a long-time resident of Calhoun County, Ala.
She taught fourth grade at Coldwater Elementary School
and at Calhoun Detention Center. She went back to
school, received her nursing degree, and worked at sev-
eral nursing homes in the area including the Cleburne
County Nursing Home in Heflin, Ala. Seven years ago she
married the love of her life and moved to Zephyr, Texas.
Mrs. Jennings is survived by her husband, Robert Jen-
nings; two sons, Ernest Mondabaugh and wife Anissa
Mondabaugh and Greg Mondabaugh of Anniston, Ala.;
step-daughter, Elizabeth Gonzales and husband Derlis
Gonzales of Toronto, Canada; four grandsons, Sean
Mondabaugh, Bryan Mondabaugh, Justin Parsons of
Anniston, Ala., Joel Parsons of Huntsville, Ala.; sisters,
Charlene Bright and husband Charles Bright of Eastabo-
ga, Ala., and Violet Holland and husband Steve Holland
of Oxford, Ala.; three nieces, Kristen Johnson and hus-
band Neil Johnson of Jacksonville, Ala., Kammie Stringer
of Oxford, Ala., April Audit;
nephew, Johnathan Shaver
of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.;
three great-nieces, Mallory
Stringer, Lauren and Lindsey
Johnson; three great-neph-
ews, Logan Johnson, Garrett
Faucet and Jaden Audit.
Cheryl was a great mom
and grandmother who had
a great love for all of her
relatives and friends. She
was a fervent Christian and a
member of the Early Church
in Christ in Early, Texas. By
the time her two sons had
graduated from high school, she was well versed in
football. During the Fall, everyone knew she was a loyal
fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide. Cheryl was always
compassionate, forgiving and helped people in need.
She is now completely healed and has everlasting
peace in Heaven.

Bill Trosper
A memorial service for
William Hite “Bill” Trosper,
age 48, of Brownwood, will
be held at 3 p.m. Friday, July
20, 2012, at the Heartland
Funeral Chapel.
Bill passed from this life
on Sunday, July 15, 2012, in
Brownwood.
He was born on March 25,
1964, in Kansas City, Mo., to
William Trosper and Bobbie
Wood Trosper. Bill worked
as a truck driver for J&S
Logistics.
Bill is survived by a daugh-
ter, Bridgette Nicole Bowen
of Brownwood; a son, Jackson Hyatt Trosper of Redondo
Beach, Calif.; a grandson, Billy Wade Templeton of Brown-
wood; his mother, Bobbie Smith and husband James of
Bangs; a brother, John Trosper and wife Judy of Valley
Spring; two sisters, Sandra Brown and Ivalena Bacon of
Topeka, Kan.; an aunt, Nancy Wood and Randi, Weston,
and Cameron Helge; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Crystal Dawn
Bowen; and a brother, Marvin Ladwig.

Epimenia ‘Pepper’
Johnson
Epimenia “Pepper” Johnson, age 71, of Brownwood,
was born on March 24, 1941, in Pleasanton, Texas, to
Pedro Martinez and Jovita Odell Martinez. Pepper was
an ordained minister and ministered to many people
throughout her life. She touched many individuals
with her prayers. Pepper was a former member of
Brownwood Evangelism Center.
She passed away at her home on Thursday, July 12,
2012.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her
husband, Monty Johnson of Early; daughters, Krystal
Baxter Ragsdale and husband, Justin of Killeen, and
Teressa Bunn and husband, Robert of Houston; her
sons, Bryan Fuller of Houston and the Rev. Joe Marti-
nez and wife, Marcie of Idaho; and her siblings, Pete
Martinez, Jovita Martinez, Petra Martinez, and Katy
Thom. Pepper also leaves behind numerous grandchil-
dren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thurs-
day, July 19, 2012, at Locker Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Fu-
