TJtree Weeks to Live
V
Middle-aged and diagnosed with cancer, he has been
taking radiation and chemo, but now is in the hospital
hooked up to machines and may only have a short time
here on earth. That man reminds me of something in
the Bible. Around 2000 years ago, a young man in his
early 30s only had about three weeks to live. He had
obeyed his parents, never killed or stolen from anyone,
was unmarried and had not lived in fornication and, as
matter of fact, kept all of the Jewish laws. In adulthood,
He went about the countryside healing the sick, giving
sight to the blind, hearing to the deaf, and healing the
crippled and lame. He had the power to calm mighty
storms, feed thousands with one little lunch, forgive
sinners of their sins and bring the dead back to life. He
explained the word of God and proclaimed that the
Kingdom of Heaven was at hand, (Matthew 4:17, Luke
4:18-21). He said that He was the Son of God and that
He must endure a terrible death on the cross so there
could be forgiveness of sins, (Romans 5:8, 1 Peter3:18.
Not only did He say that He would die, but that He would
arise from the grave on the third day, (Romans 1:4). Let
us not reject the greatest gift God has ever given us, Jesus
Christ, (John 3:16-18, Ephesians 2:8&9,1 John 5:11-13)).
See you in Church next Sunday. .

Hondo’s tradition of
compassionate professional
funeral service began in 1903,
when caskets were sold and
visitations were sometimes held
at the McClaugherty & Horger
Livery Stable. We are still
located where the livery stable was.
The Horger Funeral Home had the
first Licensed Embalmer in Medina
County. Today Guinn-Horger has the
only Funeral Director In Charge in
Hondo who is also a Licensed
Embalmer. Please ask for us by name
to receive the best care in Hondo.
