Whereas. It is the duty of every true American citi-
zen to stand behind his government and support its insti-
tutions; and
Whereas, Our National Adminstration has adopted a
plan of National Preparedness, which is one of the wisest
ever devised; and
Whereas, The people of these United States are every-
where showing by patriotic parades and displays their loy-
alty to the Flag and to the Administration: and
Whereas, Rockdale, a Milam county town, has de-
termined to hold such a Preparedness demonstration on
July 4th, 1916. a day peculiarly fitted for such a program;
Now, therefore, I, John Watson, as County Judge of
Milam county, Texas, do hereby issue this as my procla-
mation naming July 4th. 1916, as a day of patriotic eele-
| bration and Preparedness Display, all over Milam county,
and I hereby suggest and urge to all the people that thev
