Rockdale Defeats Sharp
Opening the season on the local dia-
mond Rockdale High defeated Sharp
High here last Wednesday week 8 to
2. The game was characterized by
frequent errors but the Sharp team
although smaller, put up a good fight
and Reichert :r. th* be-* for Sharp held
the locals to four hits while Alford
did not yield a hit in six innings, but
Green allowed five hits in the last
three frames.
Bartlett Defeats Rockdale
Last Friday on the local diamond

Rockdale High 11 to 3. In the first
inning the locals "blew up” and by
way of seven errors and one hit al-

The remainder of the game was a
good exhibition of baseball and both
teams fielded brilliantly. The Barf-
lett team is one of the strongest high
school teams in the state and they
have so far defeated all comers. The
locals play in Bartlett April 7.

DISTRICT SCHOOL MEET
. TO BE HELD APRIL 14
Thomas H. Lee, Superintendent of
Schools at Georgetown, Texas, Direc-
tor General of District No. 23 of the
University Interscholastic League, an-
nounces that the District Meet for
District No. 23 will be held at George-
town, Friday, April 14. The contest
in tennis, he states, will be held pos-
sibly before Friday, but each entry
in tennis will be notified in plenty of
time. Ii is very insprertaut, ««ys Mr.
Lee, for all teachers who have first
and second place winners to send
their entries in to him at once. The
following counties are included in Dis-
trict No. 23: Bastrop, Burnet, Lam-
pasas, Lee, Llano, Milam, Travis and
Williamson. The city of Austin is
also included in this district and will
compete in the district meet on equal
terms with the counties. Mr. Lee de-
clares that the prospects for a big
district meet are better than ever be-
fore and that he expets to see strong
representation from each county. H*
is very anxious, however, that all en-
tries be forwarded to him at as early
date as possible.
