both the American and Texas Bankers’ Associations, and
while entirely independent, has connections of far reaching importance,
that enables it to facilitate commerce on a scale that few people realize.
It is conducted under the supervision of the United States Government,
which means that it must conform its system to paths of safety. With
these facts before you why not kejbp an account with us? WHY NOT?

Red Cross Stamps.
The sale of the Christmas Red
Cross stamps has been quite free
in Rockdale the past week, and
the good women who have this
charitable matter in hand are
meeting with success.
These stamps, let it be known,
are not postage stamps, and are
not good for postage. Neither
should they be affixed to the face
of a piece of mail matter, but to
the back thereof. The postoffice
department has approved of their
use, but says they must not be
put on the face of letters mailed,
but on the back. Also, packages
tied with strings should have the
stamps affixed so that the seringa
may be readily untied. Buy some
stamps and help a worthy cause.

Miss Wallis* Musical.
The music class of Miss Norris
Wallis gave their first enter-
tainment of the season last Fri-
day night. The program consist-
ed of about a dozen splendid mus-
ical numbers, followed by a little
operetta, “The Brownie Band.’*
In this little play the younger
members of the class were given
an opportunity to be featured,
and all acquitted themselves
with credit. The dainty little
Wee-wees and the comical
Brownies made a hit with the
audience.
The entertainment reflects
credit upon Miss Wallis and her
ability as an instructor of the
young.

Freedom from Flaws
and general brilliancy and representation, chiefly the latter.
Oftentimes diamonds are bought b« cause of their representa-
tion. Oftentimes they are not what the purchaser supposes
them to be.
For years we have been striving to obtain and maintain the
confidence of our customers and have succeeded largely because
we never misrepresent our goods. .Inst, now we have stones,
all perfect, from .1 to 1A carats of a very fine white color, Am-
erican cutting. We are selling them below their market value
