Waiting for permanent chief
Employees still temporary
Bastop County Appraisal District
employees continue to work on a
temporary basis after the Board of
Directors denied a request by in-
terim Chid Appraiser Lorraine
Perry to make them all permanent
employees
Although the employees of the
Appraisal District are only consi-
dered temporary, many have
worked for the District for almost
a year without any benefits.
Board members agreed that it
would be better to wait until a per-
manent chief appraiser is chosen to
make employees permanent in case
the new chief appraiser wants to
make changes.
Auditor Wayne Frank reported
to the Board on his audit of the Ap-
praisal District for 1983. Frank
said he found no major discrepan-
cies and the board accepted his
report
Frank suggested only minor
changes in the bookkeeping at the
Appraisal District He asked that
more ddailed records be kept of
employee mileage and of accounts
due.
