If the system is created for the
appraisal district’s computer
system, the district will also be
able to maintain it and keep it up-
dated, proponents argue
Earlier this year county of-
ficials considered hiring a private
consultant to develop the data
base.
But subsequent talks revealed
that the consultant’s system
would be incompatible with the
appraisal district’s equipment,
said Mrs. Ripley.

Judge Fritz said the county’s
share will come in the form of ad-
ministrative services and
volunteer work from groups like
firefighters in verifying the loca-
tion of residences and similar
structures.
Fritz said the mapping effort
enjoys strong support from local
utilities and postal officials who
plan to adopt the addresses, once
developed, for mail deliveries.
Mrs. Ripley said the job will
take about two years to complete.

The scientists say the mechanism
behind the weight loss is not clear,
but suggest it is partially due to a
decrease in the intestinal absorption
of calories. Scientists in another study
published in the British Journal of
Nutrition, found that patients con-
suming the same colloid lost weight
in spite of being instructed not to
alter normal eating patterns. Despite
this evidence, other scientists my
not agree on the weight loss benefits
of colloids. Someday, pending fur-

agreement that colloids are helpful in
confronting the problem of obesity.
National Dietary Research, whose
research topics have been the subject
of articles published in recent medi-
cal and nutritional journals, has suc-
cessfully incorporated a senes of
colloids into a chewable food tablet
called FS-1. When used as directed,
FS-1 replaces high calorie fats with
lower calorie nutrients, thus provid-
ing optimum nutrition with a mini-
mum number of fat calories. Accord-
ing to an article published in the
American Journal of Clinical Nutri-
tion, consciously limiting the amount
of food one consumes is not neces-
sary to lose weight, provided you
