My Dear Papa:
Another Sunday and it Is the
next to the las; that I shall spend
here.. 1, .have so enjoyed my two
months here that. I really do hate
for the 28th to come, for we 'hear
that it is plenty warm m Rio. now!
and the heat will continue there
during March

little pictures that were about 4x6
inches in size of the most beautiful

describe it so that you get the idea

and a gondola, etc., on the paper.
The ceiling was In ivory with a
fceauliful blue and gold design in
the center, just above the magndi-

there in the chandelier were just
lumps but you have never seen more
beautiful ones—with their cut crys-

LEWIN CLAYTON ACCEPTS
POSITION IN ABILENE
Lewtn Clayton of Coleman, son
of Roy Clayton, local furniture
dealer, Monday began work in a
new position at Abilene. Young Mr.
Clayton had worked for three years
and one week with Hayden Har-
gett's Man's Store here and has
accepted a position with Minter's
Dry Goods Company at Abilene.
His new duties will be similar to
his duties while here.
here is just what Mardl .Gras is in
New Orleans. It will continue until
Midnight on Wednesday, Of course
it is a bit different here to what it
is in Rio but they have the same
principles. At noon today we heard
a band playing and upon looking
out saw a group of people all dress-
ed in masks and costumes dancing
down the street. Those who have
witnessed it in- Rio say that the
behavior is beyond all description
and one can well imagine it would
be.

Baron had owned. Each one of these
cabinets was a different style toi
Bny I had seen. Then we went into ;
the kitchen whiil i would easily
have housed this whole house in
which we are living. There we met
the wife of the owner and saw a
raft oi servants, children, p dog or|
two. cat. chickens, etc. Then we
descended into the back yard where
we found chickens, etc., then went
out to the orchard where we were
loaded down wilh fniit.
The present owner is an Italian'
who really does not care so much
about the place for its beauty and j
we could see where the termites;
were working in the ceiling of the
xalao. It Just mades one ill to sec
, anything that pretty going to ruin.
I The. owner bought it when there |
' was a law-suit over it after 'he
death of the Baron, who left no
1 heirs by his wife but had one or;
i two others scattered around who'
made their claims, so his estate was
divided into three parts and sold.!
I This owner lookp.1 like the hind i
wheel cf destruction had left him
i in its wake but of course he had |
been out working with the cattle..
He has three hundred head of cows,
mast of which are milk cows and:
he sends the milk to the creamery.
The people say he has lots of money,
He was smoking a cigarette made
c. tobacco rolled in a corn shuck,
but he used an automatic lighter
