The Easter Gospel The Message of the Empty Tom b
And when lhe sabbath was past, Mary Mag-
dalene, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and
Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they
might come and ano,it Him. And very early
in the morning, the first day of the week, they
came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the
sun. And they said among themselves. Who
shall roll us away lhe stone from the door of
the sepulchre? And when they looked, they
saw that lhe stone was rolled away: for it was
very great. And entering into the sepulchre,
they saw young man sitting on lhe right side,
clothed in a long white farment: and they were
affrighted. And he sad unto them. Be not af-
frighted: ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was
crucified; He is risen; He is not here; behold
the place where they laid Him. But go your
way, tell His disciples and Peter that He goelh
before you in Galilee; there shall ye see Him,
as He said unto you. And they went out quickly,
and fled from the sepulchre; for they trembled
and were amazed: neither said they anything to
any man; for they were afraid." Mark 16: 1-8.
VICTORY! HOPE! ASSURANCE!
1
• The Message of the Empty Tomb is a message of VICTORY for all peo-
ple. It proclaims to the world that Christ has won a complete and full
victory, vanquishing sin and death.
• 1 he Message of the Empty Tomb is a message of HOPE for all for accept
the victory of Christ in faith and confess and serve Him as their Redeem-
er, Lord and King. Without faith in the Ciucified and Risen Christ there
is no real hope in life. “And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain, ye
are yet in your sins.” (1 Cor. 15:17).
©The Message of the Empty Tomb is a message of ASSURANCE, assur-
ing us that we have a living Christ in whom we may place our trust, and
that through Him we shall have a more glorious life beyond the grave for
He has promised “Because I live, ye shall live also.”
that we shall one day be reunited with all our loved ones who having died
in Christ are now walking with God.
