PRESCOTT EXPI.AINS VIEWS
To the people OT B 'own and Col

Much discussion both pro and con

simply to acquaint 'he people of'Wy

cf my district, and m..west Texas,
First. The neet) for such impdr
an', work in my district- is para-
mount; the recent floods .along the
Oclorado Basin, of Which Brown and
Colyman counties are a, part, make
the point of need very apparent.
During the recent devastating flood
along the Colorado, hundreds of
thousands of dollars worth of pro-
perty was lost, crops wexO ruined,
live' stock, was drowned, and land
was badly eroded-because of the top
soil being washed away. Please-bear
in mind that this took place along
creeks and. small streams as well as
large rivers. In fact, sta' lattes' prove
that yi’ice as much property vy n
lest oh' Inland creeks and streams
’as was lost on the Colorado river.
Second. House Bill No. 468 vv;ll
remedy this-situation; by terracing
land, contouring pastures, building
low water dams, etc. This flood sit-
melon will be. retarded and loss of
live stock, crops and property will
