Painters
Peasant painters, MilletYnd Bre-

Holland were studied at a meeting
of the Shakespeare club Tuesday
efternoon at the City Library. The
study of paintings Is a course of-
fered by the University of Texas,
and being studied this season by
members of the club.
Mrs.' L. J. Maxwell was leader of
the afternoon's program. Roll call

the business session.
A paper, 'The place as mission-
aries of Millet and Israels” was read
by Mrs. J P. Henderson. Mrs. For-
est Caskey made an interesting talk
on the deep religious nature of the
French peasant as seen in Angelus
Subject of the round table dis-
cussion was "Is absolute ugliness es-
sential to truth in a picture? and
May an ugly subject such as toil
and want of the peasant be made
beautiful?"

and the late Mr Cotten. she attend-
ed the San Angelo .schooLs, grad-
uating from the high school in that
city, and later attended Draughon's
Business College to Abilenp.
Mrs. Craig is a member of the lo-
cal Order of the Eastern Star and
is now serving as Warden in that
organization.

teresting discussion of the study
book. "World Peace and Christian
Missions.” A piano selection, Kreis-
ler’s "Caprice Vetoois." was given
by Miss Oran Jo Pool. During the
business session, the circle voted to
sponsor some local pro ject during j
the year.
