Ii. S. Cook of Taft, chairman of the March of Dimes
ampaiKn in San Patricio ( aunty, called for re-doubled
efforts on the part of voluntary workers and additional
help by residents to put the drive over its county-wide
goal of $12,000. The campaign was extended through
Fcii. 15 to enable local chapters in Texas to carry out
phase< of the drive which had been held up or curtailed by
inclement weather. With its funds exhausted and over
Si.uOD in debt, the San Patricio County chapter ha, set its
sights on the largest goal in its history. ________________

Greyhounds Eat Steak
At Sinton’s Expense
The Greyhounds will eat
steak tonight at the Home-
Making cottage in fulfillment
of a Taft businessman's pledge
to give the players a steak
dinner if they ever beat Sin-
ton in anything from football
to pinochle.
The Taft basketballers de-
feated Sinton 33-32, winning
the steak dinner and then
added the mushrooms last
week with a 48 to 28 plaster-
ing of the Pirates.
Tony Lyons, operator of
Lyon's Men Store, and C. J.
Quarles of the Red and White
Food Store are supplying the
makings which will be pre-
