“THE LANGUAGE TODAY"
The second of the series of pro-
grams on Better American Speech,
the study course for the LHeia
ture Department of the Taft Wo-
man’s Club, was presented Monday
afternoon, October 24, at the
meeting of the department in the
Presbyterian Annex. Twenty-two
members and two visitors were
present on this afternoon.
Roll call was answered with “Ex-
pressions Towards a More Pic-
turesque Speech." After the bus-
iness session, during which one
of the visitors, Mrs. L. N. Tutt,
gave a report, from the State Fed-
eration. the meeting was left in
charge of the program committee,
Mrs, C, C. Boykin and Mrs, M D.
Wise.
Mrs. Boykin gave an entertain-
ing and instructive paper on "The
Language Today", after which Mrs.
Wise led a round-table discussion
of the topic.
