Here's a smart young woman who is taking her
short, unruly hair in hand with the help of a
home permanent. She has chosen a kit which in-
cludes a waving lotion designed for her particular
hair texture. As soon as she has finished shampoo-
ing her hair, she pours the lotion into a glass cup
upper left), and prepares to apply it with cotton.
Next, she rolls each saturated strand of hair on a
plastic curler (lower left* and when she finishes
her complete head, sets an alarm clock for the
timing period. The steps are simple and take little
time to follow In fact, to create a stronger wave,
all she has to do is leave the curlers in overnight.
The last step is a brush and combing, and the
result is a smartly-styled, easy-to-handle hair-do.
