WORLD RECORD?—Josh Isbell, son of Leon and Helena Isbell
and brother of Yvonne Isbell of Wylie, is shooting for a spot in
the Guiness Book of World Records with his tin foil ball. He has
been collecting foil for six years, and the ball now weighs 7 1/2
pounds. Josh uses allowance money to support his hobby, and
sometimes he finds foil in his Christmas stocking. News staff photo

Dylan Joseph Rice
Funeral services were held
for Dylan Joseph Rice, 5 mon-
ths, of Wylie on Sunday, May
1. 1994, 2 p.m. at Wylie
United Methodist Church.
Rev. Don Yeager officiated.
He passed away on Friday,
April 29, 1994.
He was the son of Drew M.
and Terry (Kalanda) Rice,
born Nov. 19, 1993 in Plano.
Survivors include his
parents of Wylie; two
brothers, Cameron and Tyler
Rice of Wylie; grandparents,
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Rice of
Longview and Mr. and Mrs.
Joe Kalanda of Hallsville;
great grandfather, E. H.
Gallenkamp of Longview;
three aunts, Carol and Karen
Kalanda of Dallas and Lori
Jaynes of Wylie; and two
uncles, Bill Rice of Longview
and Robin Rice of Columbus,
Ohio.
Burial was in the Wylie
Cemetery with Allen Funeral
Home in charge of ar-
rangements.

Prayer on May 5
The Wylie Ministerial Alliance is
once again sponsoring the local
observance of the National Day of
Prayer on Thursday, May 5. All
interested persons from the
community are invited to meet at
City Hall from 12:20 - 12:40 p.m. to
pray for spiritual and moral rebirth
for our nation.
This time of prayer is open to
anyone and everyone who wishes lo
participate. The National Day of
Buyer has its roots in (lie founding
of our nation. It was officially
recognized by President Harry S.
Truman in the 1950s. In 1988, the
first Thursday in May was
designated as the National Day of
Prayer.
City Hall is located in die Wylie
Municipal Complex on north
Highway 78. The prayer session will
be held in die council chambers. For
