at 7:30 Monday evening in the
Masonic Hall with Mrs. Orville
Slate, Worthy Matron, presid-
ing At this time,, plans for the
O. E. S. School, to be conducted
I here Nov, 12, were made. It was
announced that...the meeting is
I to be held in the Masonic Hall,
while the banquet will be staged

During the business meeting,
the charter was draped for Mrs.
; Sam T. Cobb, who recently pass-
ed away.
In connection with plans for-
mulated for the school, a deco-
rating committee, composed of

men Donham, Forrest Caskey,

j Scott, and Coe Cross, was nam-

It was also announced, in con-

ed meeting of the local chapter

Mr. and Mrs’ John William
Burden of Abilene entertained
in the Hospitality Room of the
First Coleman National Bank
Sunday afternoon, 3 to 6 o'clock.
With a receptiin honoring his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. John L.
Burden of Houston, formerly of
Santa Anna.
Both Mr. arid Mrs. John Bur-
den were reared in Colemap
County near Santa Anna, where
they were wed Oct. 18, 1908. and
where they Resided until moving
to Houston in 1941.
Guests were received by Mr.
and* Mrs. Burden, the honorees,
and Mr. and Mrs. John William
Burden and children, and were
then registered in the golden
wedding anniversary registry by
Mrs, R. J. Boardman and Mrs.
W. H. Burden. Golden chrysan-
themums adorned the registry
table.
In the dining area, the tea
table was laid with gold net over
gold taffeta, and was centered
with a most, unique arrangement
featuring a crystal bowl filled
with floating white chrysanthe-
mums and lighted flower floats.
A stand above this creation held
the crowning layer of the anni-
versary cake. The entire arrange-
ment was flanked on either side
by crystal candelabra.
Wedding cake and gold punch
were served to 80 attending
guests, by Mrs. Roy McClure.
Mrs. L. M. Brown, Mrs. Mary
Boardman, and Mrs. C. L. Board-
time, initiation ceremonies will
be conducted. Members will also
practice for the O. E. S. School.
. Following adjournment, ^re-
freshments were served to 39 at-
tending members.

Little Miss Libby Berry was
the honored guest at a party Sat-
urday afternoon, given in cele-
bration of her ninth birthday.
Mrs. John Berry was hostess in
her home, 3 to 5 p.m., for the
festivities honoring her daugh-
ter.
Games were played by the
honoree and her guests, and
punch and cake were served.
Decorations followed a Hallo-
ween theme
