Sales during 1973 amounted to
$98,809 for 71 per cent of the
yearly sales goal of $140,000.
Texans purchased $15,960,
41* in Savings Bonds during
the riionth. Total Bond sales
during 1973 were $222,144,125
for 103 per cent of the state's
goal of $216(6 million. Seventy-
nine counties in the state have
achieved their 1973 sales goal.

Funeral For
A. J. Needham
Held Sunday
Funeral services were held at
2 p.m. Sunday, March 3, at
Stevens Memorial Chapel for
A. J. Needham, Jr., 62, who
died at 11 a.m. Friday, March 1,
1974 at Overall Morris Memor-
ial Hospital.
A native of Coleman County
born August 20. 1911 at Glen
Cove, he lived most of his life in
Coleman. He was the son of the
late Andrew J. Needham and
Mrs. Rosa Needham who now
lives in San Antonio.
Mr. Needham was a graduate
of Coleman High School, and
received a bachelor of science
degree from the University of
Texas in 1934. He was married
to Allene Horn on June 17,1934
. in Brownwood at the bride's
home.
„ For three years, he taught
school in Miami, Texas and then
at Novice for two years. In
1938, he was licensed as a state
land surveyor and practiced
this occupation until retiring in
1972 because of illness.
Early Stevens Mask offici-
al ed at the services. Interment
was in the Coleman City
Cemetery with J. E. Stevens
Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors are his wife of
■ Coleman; his mother, Mrs.
Rosa Needham of San Antonio;
one son, Jim Needham of
Coleman; one daughter, Mrs. G.
W. (Rebecca) Loyd of Coleman;
one sister, Mrs. Winnie Mae
Mask of San Antonio; one
brother. Early B. Needham of
San Antonio; two grandsons,
Andrew and Michael and
several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Fov Cole-
man, Truett Hipsher. Reg
Lagow, Austin Saunders,
Wright Landers, Raymond
Ray, Willis Ray, and Zeima
Ray.
Vinson Rites
Monday In
Santa Anna
Will Ed Vinson, 67, of Santa
Anna, died Saturday. March 2,
1974 at 9 p.m. at Overall Morris
Memorial Hospital. Services
were held at 2:30 p.m.. Monday,
March 4 at First Baptist Church
of Santa Anna.
Rev. Louis Shambeck of First
United Methodist Church of
Santa Anna and Rev. V. D.
Parnell of Northside Baptist
Church of Santa Anna conduc
ted the services. Interment was
in the Santa Anna Cemetery.
Mr. Vinson was horn in
Coleman County on January 8,
1907 and lived here all of his
life. He was a member of the
Baptist Church.
Survivors are two sisters.
Miss Adelle Vinson of Santa
Anna, and Mrs. Sybil Summers
of Christiana, Tennessee; one
brother, Homer Vinson of
Santa Anna, one niece, one
nephew, and a number of
cousins. One brother. Drue B.
Vinson died in 1970.

ers. Henderson Funeral Home
of Sant a Anna w as in charge of
arrangements!
NATIONAL DHIA MEET
The annual meeting of the
National Dairy Herd Improve
ment Association will be held
. March 25 28 in San Antonio.
The DHIA program is designed
to provide records that can be
used by dairymen to improve
herd efficiency, says a dairy
specialist for the Texas Agri
cultural Extension Service.
More than 40 states will be
represented at the meeting.
