at filling needs not covered by
special teachers and that par-
ents should learn to fill some of
those needs at home. She con-
cluded with an original poem
composed by a mother in a cas-
ual conversation with her young
son.
Before the joint meeting in a
short business session West Ward
PTA made plans to furnish one-
half of the cost of four overhead
projectors for the school.
To open the joint meeting, The
Rev. Jim Haney, rector of St.
Mark’s Episcopal Church, pre-
sented the day s meditation, ex-
pressing the need for God in
this rapidly changing world.

sang a solo, accompanied by her
teacher, Mrs. James Hargett.
Then Mrs. Gene Pierson, teach-
er of drawing, painting, and oth:
er handwork, discussed the var-
ious media and presented works
in each.

from basic drawing through oils
were displayed. These works
