The increase “takes on par-

wood available from the Nation-
al Forests to meet the require
rinents of the rapidly expanding

The forest industries urged
that the 4J_ S. Forest Service
continue to review National For
est management policies with
recognition of raw material
needs, said Schelhorn. "While
the industries get the majority
of their wood from private land-
owners. the timber available
from National Forests helps re-
lieve the growing pressures on
private lands," he said.
