Dallas community leader, Idelle Rabin who has left an
indellible mark of her leadership expertise in count-
less civic endeavors was among the guests with husband,
Leon, at the gathering of ADL - JCRC board members who
heard a first hand account from Cong. Steve Bartlett on his
trip to the USSR at the home of Muriel and Ralph Pinkus
Sunday evening. Idelle was in Nairobi just a few weeks ago
where she participated in Forum ’85, a gathering of 14,000
women and a small group of men from community groups
worldover. Idelle, a dedicated member and support-
er of the American Jewish Committee was deter-
mined, as well as prepared that racist criticism aimed at
Israeli women during the Mexico City conference in 1975
[when Zionism was equated with Racism] and in 1980 in
Copenhagen, Denmark, would not be allowed to pass.
Russell Robinson, a Na-
tional Campaign Consultant
of the United Jewish Ap-
peal attended the first
Sherman Seminar for Jew-
ish Professional leaders at
Brandeis University, July
17-19. The Seminar examin-
ed “The Challenge of
Changes in the Jewish
World” through demo-
graphics, political and or-
ganizational changes and
their impact on communal
agencies and leaders.
Robinson was one of 20
participants in the Seminar
that were selected from over
75 candidates nominated by
their respective agencies as
young professionals who
show exceptional promise as
Jewish communal leaders.
At Brandeis they studied
with a faculty of scholars in
Judaic and Jewish commun-
al studies, among them
Professor Nahum Sarna,
Bernard Reiman, Gary Tob-
in, and Jonathan Woocher,
and senior executives1' in
Jewish communal life includ-
ing Irving Bernstein, Bert
Gold, Steve Nasatir and
Arthur Rotman.
A native of El Paso,
Robinson has worked in the
Jewish communal field for
the past eight years. A social
work major from University
of Texas, he began his
career in El Paso at the
Jewish Community Center
and Federation. He then
moved to Chicago for the
United Jewish Appeal and
was transferred to Dallas as
Assistant Regional Director
and now serves as a Major
City Consultant and Nation-
al Campaign Consultant.
40th Reunion Planned:
The W.H. Adamson High
School of Dallas, graduat-
ing classes of 1945 have
scheduled a 40th reunion to
be held at Union Terminal
on the evening of September
14. Approximately 80 per-
cent of the graduates have
already been located and
efforts to find the remaining
graduates are continuing.

graduates are asked to

Insurance V.I.P.’s — Mel-
vin P. Isaacs, CLU, a Dallas
life insurance agent, has
been elected President-Elect
of the Texas Association of
Life Underwriters, an 8,400
member professional as-
sociation. Isaacs, an agent
with New York Life, was
elected during the associa-
tion’s annual convention in
Fort Worth, July 18-20. As
President-Elect, he will au-
tomatically advance to the
presidency next July. He
will serve on the organiza-
tions Executive Commit-
tee and will be Chairman of
Chairmen, General Chair-
man of the Texas Sales
Caravan in February and
Chairman of the Association
Leadership Conference next
June. He will also be
responsible for planning
next Year’s convention.
Prior to his election to the
Texas Association Board of
Directors, he served in all
the officer chairs of the
Dallas Association of Life
Underwriters.
