The Joys of Jewish
Learning 1978 Fall Series,
boasting a record number of
quality course offerings, is
scheduled to begin on
October 31 and continue for
six consecutive Tuesday
nights, until December 5.
This year’s Fall Series of the
Joys of Jewish Learning
promises to be the best ever!
Seventeen different courses
will be offered, including:
Biblical History: Joshua,
Judges, Kings, The Jews In
Exile (100-700 C. E.); The
Prophets; and the Jewish
View of the New Testament;
Jewish Thought: Introduc-
tion to Jewish Philosophy;
The Talmud and Its Teach-
ings; and Selections From
Rabbinic Literature; Mo-
dern Language and Conver-
sation: Beginning and In-
termediate-Level Hebrew
courses; Beginning Yiddish
(Mit Stories); Israeli Dance:
two sections planned to
accommodate the increasing
demand; and Literature:
Great Books of Yiddish
Literature (in translation).
The courses are sequenc-
ed into time categories:
those classes which meet
from 7:45 until 8:45 p.m.
(Session I), and those classes
which meet from 9:00-10:00
p.m. (Session II). Partici-
pants may take one course in
each Session (any combina-
tion) for a $10 registration
fee ($6.00 for full-time
students).
This semester, the Joys of
Jewish Learning Series will
be held at Temple Emanu-
El, 8500 Hillcrest, in Dallas.
The Joys of Jewish
Learning Series began in the
Fall of 1974 with two
co-sponsors and offered a
total of five courses. Since
that time, the Series has
grown in scope to include six
co-sponsors. The Series is
held twice a year, and is
hosted on a rotating basis by
the co-sponsoring institu-
tions. The co-sponsoring
institutions for the Fall 1978
Series are: Akiba Academy,
Congregation Beth Torah,
Congregation Shearith Isra-
el, Congregation Tiferet
Israel, Temple Emanu-El,
and the Jewish Community
Center of Dallas. The Series
is a community program
that Dallasites can take
much pride in, and support
with their attendance and
participation!
The Series is staff-co-
ordinated by Dr. Richard
Zalman at the Jewish
Community Center, and he
can be reached at 739-2737,
for additional information.
The Fall 1978 Joys of Jewish
Learning brochure will be in
the mail soon. Watch for it..

Keay Named Chairman of Jewish Benefit

The Feinsteins, who were
formerly of Toronto, Cana-

Kessler Parkway. Dr. Fein-
stein, a physician, special-
izes in endocrinology, inter-
nal medicine and diabetes.

Richard Zalman, who are
now living on La Cosa, are
formerly of Salina, Kansas.
Richard is the new Cultural
Arts Director at the JCC,
and wife, Susie, is teaching
at the Alternative High
School in Richardson. New-
comers Dr. and Mrs. David
Rosenstock and children,
Gila and Eyal, formerly of
South America, are now
residing at the Forestwood
Townhomes. Guesting with
Dr. Ken and Gloria Price
and daughter Sara, are
cousin, Joel Realberg, of
New York, and Ken’s par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Hillel
Price of Miami. The Prices
will celebrate Sara’s first
birthday this week. Cathy
Babin, former Richardson
