their Champagne Dance on December 6. Dancing will be to the
music of Joe Reichman and his orchestra from 8 p.m. to midnight

your editorials on the suoject
matter to appear in your paper.
It is a tragedy that our core-
ligionists feel obliged to dem-
onstrate how iiberal they are.
They are not concerned with
maintaining the link of Jewish-
ness into the future. Thus reject
the lack of pride in our reli-
gion, our faith, our people. We

Ann to Leonard Martin Melman, on Sunday, November 29.
The future bridegroomi, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sid Melman of
Los Angeles, is stationed with the UJ5. Army at Fort Bliss in El
Paso, as the chaplain’s assistant.
Miss Harris and her fiance are both former students of Los
Angeles College.
The table at the open house was laid with a lace banquet
fcloth over gTeen satin. The centerpiece and floral arrangments
throughout the house were carried out in mint green and silver.
Hostesses were Mrs. Karl Reiter, of Houston, sister of the hon-

are “Jewish reasons” for memo-
rializing the late President John
F. Kennedy because of the Jew-
ish values and characteristics
manifested in his life, Associate
Supreme Court Justice Arthur
Goldberg told the new “John F.
Kennedy lodge” of B’nai B’rith
here this week.
Mr. Goldberg, a close personal
friend as well as member of the
late President’s Cabinet, addres-
sed installation ceremonies of the
lodge whose membership is
mainly comprised of United
States Government officials and
employees, including a number
who served in high posts in the
Kennedy Administration.
Among the vice-presidents of
the new lodge are Manuel F.
Cohen, chairman of the United
States Securities and Exchange
Commission; Sheldon S. Cohen,
chief counsel of the Internal Rev-
enue Service; and Max Paglin,
former general counsel of the
Federal communications Commis-
sion. The president is Robert R.
Nathan, noted economist and
consultant on world development
projects.

FERMI AWARD
TO RICKOVER
WASHINGTON (JTA) — Vice
Admiral Hyman G. Rickover was
named the recipient of the Fermi
Award of the Atomic Energy
Commission Sunday, one of the
highest scientific honors conferred
by the United States Govern-
ment.
1 The $25,000 award, which was
named for its first recipient, En-
rico Fermi, was given to Admiral
Rickover “in recognition of his
outstanding engineering and ad-
ministrative leadership in deve-
lopment of safe and reliable nu-
