COUNCIL AT BAT
Over a score of women of Council’s Donor Solicitation Com-
mittee heard Arthur Rosenthal, local sales expert and an in-
structor at Texas Christian University speak on “Personality
and Selling, ’ at a coffee at Rose Greenspun’s home this morn-
ing.
Proceeds from the Donor Luncheon to be held November
2nd at the Temple Center, will benefit all Council’s project as
well as the Retarded Children’s Opportunity Center. Donation
categories have been divided into five sections; Godmothers,
$100; Guardians, $50; Benefactors, $25; Good Samaritans, $15
and Donors, $10.

AWARD
L. F. Shanblum Lodge has a proud civic
project making its debut this Sunday night.
The first Americanism Award will be pre-
sented to Dr. M. E. Sadler, president of Texas
Christian University.
. The presenation will include a fund for
a lecture foundation to be held annually at
T.C.U. Lectures will embody the positive role
of democracy in our country. The lectures
will be open to the public without charge.
Dr. Sadler will be honored at a dinner
at Temple Beth-El Center at seven p.m.
Tickets are one dollar per person. Besides
enjoying a wonderful dinner yo-ur presence
will aid in giving the proper sendoff to a
grand man and a patriotic program.

Mr. and Mi's. Jack Siegel of 4512 Ridgehaven Rd., and
Lenox, Massachusetts, announce the engagement of their daugh-
ter, Caryl Theresa, to Dr. Harold Stem, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Nathan Stern of Mattapan and Hull, Massachusetts.
Miss Siegel was graduated from Miss Hall’s School in Pitt,
Massachusetts. She attended Texas Christian University and
received her B.A. degree from Sarah Lawrence College at
Bronxville, N.Y., this past June.
Dr. Stern is a graduate of Tufts College Medical School.
He served in the Navy during World War II and is now assist-
ant resident in surgery at the Yale Medical Center. He is a
member of Alpha Omega Alpha, Sigma Phi, Alpha Epsilon Phi
and Phi Lambda Kappa.
The wedding will take place at the Ambassador Hotel in
New York in January.
