income families of all colors

dozen American cities and
in Canada, England, Austra-
lia, New Zealand and Israel.

Despite cloudy skies and the threat of rain, more than 150 persons gathered to celebrate the groundbreaking held adjacent
to the Mollie and Max Barnett Apartments. Al Kulakoff, president of the TC BB Housing Corp. who was honored at the
ceremonies said: “...these are homes for people of any creed or color, these are homes for people...residents pay monthly
rent equal to one-third of their income, for some, that’s only $9. for others, it’s $100 or so.’
Serving with Kulakoff are Leroy Solomon, vice-president; Leslie Kaitcer, secretary; Nell Hall, corresponding secretary and
Rosalie Ackin, treasurer. The Board of Directors also includes Herbert Berkowitz, Andrew Carr, Andy Cohen, Bumis Cohen,
Cathy Fried, David Robideau and Dr. Richard Rome.

Clinton Stands With B’nai B’rith
at Havdalah, Jefferson Memorial
President Bill Clinton will join B ’ nai B ’ nth leaders from throughout the world Saturday
night at the Jefferson Memorial for Havdalah Services. The services begin Washington’s
national celebration of B’nai B'rith’s 150th anniversary.
Numerous events will have preceded Mr. Clinton’s participation in the celebration.
Thousands of Jewish leaders have followed the organization's top leadership in celebra-
tions in Baltimore, Philadelphia and New York. B’nai B'rith members were addressed at
a United Nations reception with Abba Eban.
President Clinton also serves as honorary chairman for a gala Sesquicentennial dinner,
Sunday, October 24, at the Grand Hyatt Hotel. The event will be attended by ambassadors
or beads of stale from all 51 countries where there are B’nai B’rith members.
