“AIDS and the Drug

“Psychosocial and Bereave-
ment Issues," "Holistic Heal-
ing: Toward Empower-
ment,” “Practical Interven-
tion Techniques with the
AIDS-affected," and “Our
Journey: A Panel of Persons
Living with HIV.” Faculty
will include local profession-
als from a variety of disci-
plines experienced in treat-
ment of persons with AIDS
and HTV infection, as well as
a panel of individuals who
have been touched by HIV
illness.
The Weekend is appropri-
ate for social service, health
care, and mental health pro-
fessionals; persons living
with AIDS or HIV and their
loved ones; and volunteers.
Continuing education cred-
its will be available for so-
cial work, LPC, and
CADAC.

begin at 6:15 p.m. on Friday,
September 17, and the pro-
gram will run from 6:30 to
10:00p.m. On Saturday, Sep-
tember 18, registration be-
gins at 8:45 a.m., and the
program will be from 9:00
a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Lunch will
be provided to participants.
The fee for professionals
is $30.00 and includes lunch,
materials, and CEUs. The
program is free to volunteers,
people living with AIDS/
HIV infection, and their
caregivers.
Attendance will be limited
to 50 persons. Participants
must register before 5:00
p.m. on Thursday, Septem-

AIDS Awareness Week-
end is a special training of-
fered six times annually by
AIDS Outreach Center, the
primary service organization
in Tarrant County for per-
sons with AIDS or HIV, and
a United Way affiliate.
