PERSONALLY SPEAKING. . . .Ambition, like yeast seed, grows
if but a smidgen exists. Education is that seed and the college
c^owd are thirstily availing themselves pf it. Here’s our proof: At
the close of the school year these collegians came home to enter
SMU summer classes, Diane Morchower, Herbie Weitzman pf the
University of Texas, Phyllis Kriss, Okla. U and Janice Einhorn,
No. Texas State College. Howard Polokoff, was awarded a Senior
scholarship to SMU where he is a student. Oklahoma U cjoeds have
brpught honor to their families have contributed much toward
student activities at their Alma Mater. Sophomore Natalie Tarter,
was elected Secretary of the Quad University dormitory. She took
an active part in Alpha Lambda Delta Freshman women’s honor
society.
Clariette Bendorf of Brecken-
ridge, fondly known as
v “CB”, was a recent initiate of
Sigma Delta Tau, received a sil-
ver loving cup when she was
announced “Mis Venus” at the
Sigma Chi Derby Day races. Also
a winner in the Dance Festival
she gathered further laurels as
nominee for Year B(ook Beauty,
Home Coming Queen and “Miss
, O.U.”. She is also a member of
Orchisis. “CB” has had a spot-
lighting year.
Tannye Beckerman and Phyllis
Kriss were finalists for Year Botok
> beauties. They are Society chair-
man and vice president, respec-
tively of Sigma Delta Tau pledge
class and will be initiated jn the
Fall.

Sheila Glasser of Tylet', retir-
ing V. president of the SDT class,
now is editor tof the Sorority
while serving as vice-pres. of
her dorm and active on the Uni-
> versity committee.
Tanya Harris, SDT class pre-
sident4 amassed honors, trophies,
and positions in many fields of
endeavor. At the initiation ban-
quet she received the Outstanding
Pledge trophy. She was also ac-
tive as a member of Jr. Panhel-
lenics. Hillel Board, Urion acti-
vities, Pi Omega, Career Con-1
erence, Conference on Religion,
Greek Work Day co-chairman
and active chairman of the Soro-
rity. In addition to all of this
she was nominee for Year Book
* Beauty, Home Coming Queen,
“Miss O.U.” and Honorary Cadet
Colonel.
On the Junior side, Congratula-
tions are in order for Marilyn
* Robinson, daugher of Mr. and
Mrs. Morris Robinson, on winning
the Jewish Teens Citizen award
of the Jewish Welfare Federation.

at the 39 annual convention of
the Texas Federation of Business
and Professional Women’s clubs,
in Tyler, Mrs. Hermine Toboltosky
was installed as president.
Winners! Winners in Interstate
Theaters’ contest, Nancy Jacobs,
Leonore and Lilyan Levinson and
Mrs. Peter Fonberg will be hon-
ored at the showing of Paul New-
man’s new picture “The Young
Philadelphian” followed by a
night on the town as guests of
Interstate.
Parties continue for lovely
bride-elect Miriam Giller, daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Giller,
6635 Park Lane,, who will be
married to Lotiis Ring, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Bert Ring, 6207 Park
Lane, on June 21 at Temple
Emanu-El. The bride’s colors k>f
Pink and white were featured at
all of the parties as at the mis-
celleaneous shower given by
Faye Abramson at her home,
-6467 Tulip Lane, on June 4.
Thirty guests attended. The Sky-
writer’s Club at Holiday Inn was
chosen by Mesdames Mike Levi-
son, Harold Greenblatt, Lewis
Werther and Murray Phillips as
the locale for their luncheon June
10 for 24 guests. Aunts of the
bride-elect, Mesdames Paiul Gil-
ler, Elmer Giller and Maurice
Giller, were hostesses for lun-
cheon June 13 at the Italian Vil-
lage Restaurant. Twenty-two
guests attended. Mesdames A1
Sweet, William Katz and Jack
Lewis entertained 25 guests at
luncheon June 16 at the Colum-
bian Club.
This evening 17 of “the girls”
will gather for a Spinster Dinner
at the home of hostess Mrs. Nor-
man Shepard, sister of the groom,
at 6410 Orchid Lane.
The Rehearsal dinner-dance
June 20 with Mr. and Mrs. Bert
Ring as hosts will be given at
Preston Hollow Country Club.
Sixty-five giuests have been in-
vited.
To be engaged are University
students Carol Rosenthal and
Steve Aaron who were “dropped”
just beffore vacation.

son, recently returned from New
York where he spent the weekend
of June 5 with his son, Damie,
prior to young Stillman’s depar-

to spend several rtionths abroad
on a Columbia University Gradu-
ate FeDlowshin doing research
work for his Ph. D. in American
Decorative Arts. Enroute to New
