Brotherhood Event to Honor Wiener
NO POSTHUMOUS WEDDING
Samson Wiener, president of
the Wiener Lumber Co., has
been selected to receive the
Brotherhood Award of the con-
struction industry at a dinner
Nov. 6 in the Sheraton-Dallas
Hotel.
The event is sponsored by the
Dallas chapter of the National
Conference of Christians and
Jews.
George L. Dahl, chairman of
the industry nominating com-
mittee and a member of the Na-
tional Conference of Christians
and Jews in Dallas, said Wiener
was selected for his “religious
motivation, broad civic service,
unqualified ethical standing and
demonstrated competence in his
particular field of the construc-
tion industry.”
An East Texas native who
graduated from the University
of Michigan, Wiener has lived in
Dallas since 1932.
With his father, the late Eli
Wiener, he established the Wie-
ner Lumber Co. in 1934.
He was recognized as Texas’
outstanding lumberman by the
Lumberman’s Association of
Texas in 1963. He serves the or-
