A Shosid family reunion
was the setting for Sol and
Anne (Shosid) Sankary’s
celebration of their 50th wed-
ding anniversary. Out-of-
town members began arriv-
ing on July 8th and on Satur-
day, July 11th, a beautiful
Opten House for the family
was hosted by the Sankary’s
sons and their families at the
home of Jeremiah and
Cynthia Eden where the
Edens were joined by brother,
David and Susan Sankary of
Tomball, Texas, and Sol and
Anne’s grandchildren,
Abigail and Jennifer Eden
and Julie and Nathan
Sankary. A luncheon and din-
ner for the family on the 12th
was hosted by the Sankarys
at their home.
Coming in for the occa-
sion were Anne’s sister,
Davida Markowitz and her
grandson, Aaron Thomas
from Kansas City, MO.;
Davida’s son J oel Markowitz
and wife, Susan, from Oak-
land, CA.; Anne’s niece
Roselle (Cooles) Novak and
sons, Philip and Bradley
Shain and daughter, Demery
Shain, all of Seattle, WA.;
Anne’s niece, Nonna Shosid
from Mountain View, CA.;
Anne’s nephew, Martin
Shosid and wife, Roslyn, of
Dallas and the local families
of both Sol and Anne. Anne’s
sister, Lena Cooles Hale re-
sides at the Arlington Heights
Nursing Center.
The Sankarys, native Fort
Worthians, were married
July 12, 1942, at the Gayes

that the umbrella group’s

News ‘Notes: Outdoors-
man, Jimmy Rosenthal,
roughed it during his recent
camping trip to the Grand
Canyon and Jackson Hole,
Wyoming. Doris Kahn
joined several of her Cana-
dian cousins in Detroit for a
marvelous trip to Niagara
Falls and the Bernard Shaw
Festival. Doris picked up her
ten year old granddaughter,
Shani Kaesler, at DFW Air-
port earlier this week. Shani
and her teen-age cousin
Ruthie Vexler (daughter of
Can and Stuart Vexler of
Austin) are just back from a
three week session at Camp
Ramah, at Ojai, Calif. Both
Shani and Ruthie loved
“Ramah” and can hardly wait
to go back. Enjoying a stint
as a counselor at “Ramah” is
teen Amy Brachman who
was a long-time camper
there. Belated July 15th an-
niversary greetings to Elaine
and Aaron Lupovitch.
Herbie and Blanche Paul
just back from a quick trip to
“Vegas” are enjoying the
visit of their daughter, Lana,
a Houston resident. Hanna
Hochster guested with her
sister and family in New Jer-
sey and son and family, the
Dr. Howard Hochsters in
New York City during her
trip to the East Coast. Jack
Gerrick is just back from his
Florida coast sailing excur-
sion. Friends and family
breathed sighs of relief that
Bernice and Louis Luskey
were not seriously injured
during their auto accident,
not far from their home. The
Luskeys, by the way, were
recent California guests of
their son and family, the Dr.
Kenny Luskeys. Added
speedy recovery wishes to
Arthur Gressman, Melvin
Rosenthal and Seyman
Rubinson.
Games and more will hi gh-
light the Dan Danciger Jew-
ish Community Center’s
Game night on Saturday,
August 1, at 8:00 p.m. The
fun evening will include
poker, bridge, scrabble, black
jack, mah jongg, ping pong
and pictionary. Light hors
d’oeuvres will be served.
Cost is $4 per person. The
community is invited to at-
tend the “adults only”
evening. The DDJC has al-
ready reminded the commu-
nity to save November 22nd
