Thought for the week -
The best way to forget all
ur troubles is to wear tight
gether, and shared a delicii
barbecue luncheon. Brother
Ron Collyer gave the sermon.
Jesse Joyner, the Juggler,
amazed all with unbelievable
acts of skill as he shared the
gospel with all. Freda Nero,
Louise Farmer, Sylvie Sims,
joined me at this yearly cel-
ebration. We all look forward
to next years Senior Day at
Camp Copass.
Christmas is already in the
air! Ron Bell, choir leader of
Joplin Baptist Church, held
special planning meeting
for the Christmas program.
The program is, “Christmas
in the Country.” The theme
concerns city kids coming in
mtry 1
Christmas time. With God’s
help and blessing, this will
be a very entertaining and
enlightening way to hear the
Christmas story. You are all
invited. The date and time of
the presentation will be an-
nounced at a later date.
Joplin Community wishes
to express sincere condo-
lences to the family of Jim
Spiller at this time of loss.
Jim has contributed much to
Jack County and he will be
missed.
Joplin Baptist Church on
Sunday, Oct. 9, devoted the
entire worship time to self-
examination, prayer, thanks-
giving, adoration, and dedi-
cation to God as The Lord’s
was celebrated. The
brought all to wor-
ship the Lord in Spirit and in
Truth.
Mark your calendar and
make plans to come to the
next Fifth Sunday Singing.
The Singing will be hosted
by Gibtown Baptist Church
and will be at 5 p.m., Oct. 30.
You are all invited. Remem-
ber to bring a friend. Re-
freshments will follow.

Rain! And I do mean rain.
God answered prayers with
an abundant amount of water
falling from the skies. I emp-
tied five inches from the gage
before nine o’clock Saturday
night.
Then, when I decided to go
to bed, I emptied out anoth-
er two and one-half inches.
When I got up Sunday morn-
ing, I emptied another inch
and eight-tenths. All together
there was over nine inches.
The water was over the
bridge down at the creek at
one point but Sunday eve-
ning when I walked down to
the creek, it was running but
was not over the bridge.
I also walked on the county
road to the north and could
see the trash on the road
where the water had washed
limbs but must not have
stayed long. It was running
in the ditches hurrying on
special because God had an-
swered prayers and sent the
rain.
Oct. 16 will be special with
a Revival Sunday. Zack Pol-
ing will bring the message
and Jeff Black will be bring-
ing the special music. Every-
one is invited to attend and
worship the Lord at Post Oak
Baptist.
