HOLIDAY TRIPS
Over the holidays auite a
number of students vent out
of town. We were unable to get
all of the trips taken but here
are a number of them.
Many students went to Dal-
las for visits with friends and
relatives. They were Charles
Max Smiley, a graduate of I Wesley, Drew Hollingsworth,
M. H. S. last year will take
his physical examination some-
time in January. Good luck,
Max.
Mr. D. E. Brooks. Superinten-
dent of the Mineola Schools,
and Mr. W. H. Prim, Principal,
were in Austin last week at-
tending the annual school ad-
ministators conference.

BASKETBALL
The fighting Mineola Yellow
Jackets took the^ floor against
the red hot Van Validate
day night and found that
fighting just wasn’t quite
enough. Led by Bennie Sin-
clair, who was high point man
Barbara Peacock, Lois Hoffman,
Ann Riden, James Henderson,
and Nelson Barnett. Also, those
students who were lucky
enough to get tickets to the
Cotton Bowl game New Year’s
Day were: Peggy Boynton, Tra-
vis Hinson, Harry Cole, Ben-
nie Sinclair, and Vedelle Bow-
den.
Many trips were made out of
Texas. Louis Puttman went to
Georgia and Florida, George
Bowdoin. went to Oklahoma,
went to New Mex-
Tun iCQ> and sharon White spent
five days in Mississippi. Also
many students traveled in Lou-
isiana. They were: Mary Jane
