over the road to Mexico City ono
year ago, when he took a number
of pictures of the construction,
both moving and still.
He decided to make this second
trip to ascertain what progress has
been made on the road's construc-
tion and to verify reports by trav-
elers thftt the route still Is dan-
gerous and hardly passable in ma-
ny places.
Furlong was equipped with two
motion picture cameras which he
planned to use along tho route, lie
nieo planned to record a careful
log of tha road.
Mariano Mqxtexuma, director-
general of tha Mexican federal
highway commlulon, haa placed
an offtola! automobile at furlong's
disposal, and Mexican officials will
aocompany him,
