carefully watched and vetoed in
all cases when not absolutely

administration when it assumed

has been accomplished, too, with-

little over the rate under the ad-

the large deficit was created by
reason of the insufficiency of the
revenue to meet expense's.

With regard to the subjoined •
paragraph from the Range News
we beg to say we did not finish up
I the matter for the reason that the
courts were not through investi-
gating the case. The alleged
horse stealing case now seems to
have turned out to be a first-rate
fiasco:
“The above is one side of the
story. The other side is that the
horses referred to do not belong
to Adams at all, but are the sepa-
rate property of his wife, from
whom lie is now separated. The
rnan charged with stealing the
stock was acting for Mrs. Adams
and is perfectly innocent of any
wrong doing, and it is pretty cer-
tain that Mr. Adams will not get
either the horses or the ‘thief,’ as
he doesn’t own the horses and
there is no thief to get.”—Cuero
