nau, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred
Karnau of Shiner, Sunday after-
noon, August 14th in Holy Cross
Lutheran Church, this City.
The Rev. D. I. Dolton, pastor,
officiated at the 3:30 P.M. mar-
riage before an altar! decorated
with arrangements of white
gladioli and gtveneiy in nltai
| vases, and glowing candles in
candelabra, which were lighted
by Misses Dorothy Carol Meist-
er and Elaine Grace Meister,
sisters of the bride. They were
attired in palt yellow crystaline
dresses.
Miss Rebecca Halliburton of
Moulton was organist, and ac-
companied Miss Linda Coldewey,
soloist, who sang ‘‘Lord, Who

in marriage. She was lovely in
her wedding gown of white chan-
tilly lace, worn over taffeta. The
fitted bodice featured rounded
neckline and long sleeves that
tapered to petal points at the
wrists, to fasten with self-cov-
ered buttons. The full gathered
skirt was of floor length.
An elbow length veil of im-
ported silk illusion cascaded
from a crown of pearls. Her only
jewelry was a single cultured
pearl drop.
She carried a white Bible,
crested with a bridal bouquet of
a white orchid and shower of
white satin ribbons.
Carrying bouquets of yellow
Fuji mums, caught up with
matching sating hows, the ma-
tron of honor and bridesmaid
preceded the bride down the

length frocks of blue crystaline

with an imported white Irish
linen damask cloth and tradi-
tionally centered with the beau-
tiful wedding cake, which was
a three-tiered white iced colon-
ado. detailed with musical notes,
staff and music insignas, top-
tied with three large sugar bells,
.white roses and lily of the val-
ley, topped with three large
lacy wedding hells. The base of
the cake was bordered with
fluted white satin and tulle.
The bride and her two attend-
ants placed their bouquets on
the table for floral decor. Serv-
ing punch was Mrs. Fred Hamil-
ton of Austin. Alternating in
serving cake were Miss Linda
Coldewey and Miss Betty Goetz.
Miss Elaine Meister passed out
napkins and plates. Chicken
salad sandwiches and pimento
cheese sandwiches were also tin
the table. Mints were in silver
compotes and slender white
tapers glowed in silver candle-
holders.
Other members of the house-

Rathkamp, Clarence Zinke, Fred
Wolfsdorf, Gerhard Petering,

Solar Telescope which was most
interesting. Quite a few Yoa-
kumites have visited Clouderoft
in the past several w'eeks. — Mr.
and Mrs. George Nagel have
just returned from a vacation
there ,and newlyweds Katherine
and Herbert Karnau spent their
honeymoon there last week.

On Saturday, August 20, the
City Park was the setting for a
get-together and reunion of the
Bouldin-Hutton families honor-
ing Mrs. L. S. Hutton on her
80th birthday, with her daugh-
ter and sons as hosts.
The day was spent in plea-
sant reminiscing and picture
taking. At noon barbecue and
all the trimmings -vas served to
approximately ru guests.
After a most enjoyable day of
visiting and hoping to get to-
gether again in the not too dis- |
tant future, the guests return- ;
ed to their respective homes. j

turquoise, with which she wore

and white gloves. Her corsage
was of a wdiite orchid.
The couple is now at home in
Boerne, Texas. Both graduates
of Texas Lutheran College in
Seguin, and both music majors,
Mr. Karnau is band director, .

Over three hundred guests
attended the wedding and re-
ception. with out-of-town guests
coming from Shiner, Seguin,
New Braunfels, Boerne, Hous-
ton, Taft, Eagle Lake, Austin,
Westhoff, San Antonio, Dallas,
San Marcos and Victoria.
— REHEARSAL SUPPER —
The supper following the wed-
ding rehearsal of the Meister-
Karnau wedding party was host-
ed by Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Meul-
ler of Shiner, assisted by Mr.
and Mrs. Gus Dieringer, and
Mrs. Otto Siems and Susan in
the Social Hall of Holy Cross
Lutheran Church Saturday
night.
The white clad supper table
was centered with an arrange-
ment of blue carnations and
fern. Colorful dishes of relishes
were also on the table. The
menu consisted of baked turk-
ey, dressing, baked ham, pota-
to salad, congealed salad, green
buttered beans, hot rolls, but-
ter, cranberries, apple pie a la
mode, iced tea and coffee. Pale
blue carnations and white place
cards marked the guests plac-
