Joycelene Traweek
TRAWEEK
Joycelene Boase Herod
Traweek peacefully passed
away in Stephenville, TX
on Sept. 9,2012 surrounded
by family and friends.
Funeral Services were 2
p.m. on Wednesday, Sept.
12 at First Baptist Church
and burial in the Dublin
Liveoak Cemetery
She was born on Oct. 6,
1938 in Morgan Mill, TX to
I.A. and Frances Boase. She
married Bill Traweek on
May 17, 1963 in Dublin,TX.
They have been very
happily married for 49
years. She was a member
of First Baptist Church in
Dublin, TX.
She is preceded in death
by her first husband Mack
Herod, her two sons,
Tommy and Timothy
Herod, two sisters Barbara
and Rita, and two brothers
Melvin Douglas and Roger.
She is survived by her
husband Bill, children
Debbie, Alan, and Sheri,
Sister Dollie Kinseyand her
husband Lynn, Brother
Gary Boase and his wife
Lucy, and numerous
grandkids, nieces, and
nephews.
Joy had many loves
during her life; the most
important of those were
her husband Bill and her
two sons Tommy and
Timothy.
Tommy and Timothy’s
lives were both cut short
way too soon and while
she grieved the loss of her
children, her beautiful
spirit carried her through
the tough times.
It was this same spirit
that carried her through
when she was diagnosed
with breast cancer in 1989.
Like she did with
everything, she took this
battle on with grace and
dignity and survived to tell
her story to other cancer
patient survivors when she
volunteered at the
hospital.
She was always willing to
share her story and help
others fight the battles
that she too fought during
her life. Joy never met a
stranger and everyone was
her friend.
Joy will be remembered
for many things. She loved
cooking, playing golf,
bowling, watching sports,
and spending time with
family and friends.
As much as she loved
cooking, her family and
friends enjoyed being the
recipient of her delicious
creations just as much.
From old fashioned pound
cake to cherry pie; desserts
were her passion and they
were always filled with
love.
Memorials: In lieu of
flowers, donations may be
made to American Cancer
Society and Susan G.
Komen Race for the Cure.
